Clark Development Corporation Launches Inaugural Clark Chorale Competition
A New Era for Cultural Tourism in Clark
On December 23, 2025, the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) successfully hosted its first-ever Clark Chorale Competition at the beautiful Nayon sa Clark, located in the Clark Freeport Zone of the Philippines. This festive event was designed to highlight Clark as a rising destination for cultural tourism and to showcase community-centered artistic initiatives.
A Celebration of Choral Artistry
The CDC’s Tourism Promotions Division took charge of this exciting endeavor, viewing it as a pivotal opportunity to redefine Clark’s image—not just as an economic hub, but also as a beacon for artistic expression and creativity. Five choir groups from various schools and community institutions participated, each group presenting its unique vocal styles and artistic interpretations. This competition served as an essential platform for local choral talents, allowing artists to shine while emphasizing the rich cultural landscape of the Philippines.
The event unfolded over several days, with preliminary rounds held on December 16, 17, 19, 21, and 22. The excitement peaked at the final round on December 23, which attracted a significant audience eager to engage with the cultural offerings in one of Clark’s premier venues. This initiative aligns with Clark’s broader strategy for sustainable tourism, artistic development, and enriching community experiences.
Building a Creative Community
Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, the CDC President and CEO, remarked that the initiative is emblematic of Clark’s ongoing dedication to nurturing a community grounded in creativity and cultural expression. “This competition symbolizes the community we are thoughtfully cultivating here in Clark—a place where artistic endeavors meet strong community ties,” she expressed. The success of the Clark Chorale Competition underscores the increasing importance of community-driven cultural tourism as a vital economic engine for the region.
Spotlighting Talents: Who Won?
A distinguished judging panel featured notable figures from the music and choral fields, including Chris Millado, the former music director at the Cultural Center of the Philippines; Gildo Garcia from the Angeles University Foundation Concert Chorus; and Prof. Joseph Erwin Limpin of the Magnificat Seminary Choir. Their expertise not only added prestige to the event but also illuminated the impressive talent present in the Philippine choral scene.
Voce de Angeli emerged as the champion of this inaugural competition, delivering a memorable performance. Koro de Sto. Niño secured the first runner-up position, while the Systems Plus College Foundation (SPCF) Glee Club took home the second runner-up title. Additionally, consolation prizes were awarded to the Sta. Monica Parish Chamber Singers and Maestro del Musico for their outstanding performances, both of which highlighted the growing artistic spirit in Clark.
Clark’s Expanding Role in Cultural Tourism
The successful execution of the Clark Chorale Competition points to a rising trend in cultural tourism in the Philippines, where the nation is being recognized for its rich heritage and diverse artistic traditions. By hosting such events, Clark is positioning itself not merely as an economic zone but as a locale offering cultural and community-driven experiences.
As tourism in the Philippines continues to grow, Clark is establishing itself through eco-cultural tourism initiatives. Events like the Clark Chorale Competition spotlight the need for sustainable tourism practices, allowing visitors to connect with local culture while also contributing to the conservation of the region’s natural beauty. This event also showcased the tourism potential of Nayon sa Clark, enhancing its appeal to those interested in experiencing authentic Filipino culture in a community-focused environment.
