Tsuburaya Productions Launches Booster Pack 09 and Starter Deck 04 for Ultraman Card Game on October 23, Featuring Showa Ultraman Series Debut
SINGAPORE — Tsuburaya Productions Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo and led by President and CEO Masayuki Nagatake, has announced the upcoming release of Booster Pack 09 (BP09), titled “Here He Comes! Our Hero!”, and Starter Deck 04 (SD04), titled “Ultraman & Ultraman Cosmos.” These new additions to the Ultraman Card Game will be available on Friday, October 23, 2026.
Introduction of Iconic Characters
The new BP09 and SD04 will feature Ultraman Cosmos, a character highly requested by fans, alongside the original Ultraman, who will make his long-awaited debut from the Showa Ultraman series. This release marks a significant milestone, coinciding with the second anniversary of the Ultraman Card Game, enhancing its importance within the franchise.
New Gameplay Features
Both products will introduce a novel “Color System” and a new category of cards known as “Boost Cards.” These innovations aim to expand strategic possibilities and enhance deck-building diversity, promising more dynamic gameplay experiences.
Feature 1: Debut of Ultraman and Ultraman Cosmos
The original Ultraman and Ultraman Cosmos will join the Ultraman Card Game, allowing players to construct decks that reflect the unique abilities and fighting styles of these legendary characters. Ultraman will also be featured as a serial-numbered card in Booster Pack 08, released on July 10, 2026, celebrating this milestone with additional collectible value.
Feature 2: Introduction of Boost Cards
The new “Boost Cards” will complement existing Character Cards and Scene Cards. These cards draw inspiration from iconic elements within the Ultraman series, including Defense Teams and memorable items. Further details regarding gameplay mechanics and card effects will be disclosed in the future.
Feature 3: Implementation of the Color System
The Color System introduced in BP09 categorizes Character Cards into five distinct colors: Red, Blue, Purple, Yellow, and Green. Cards released prior to this system, as well as those without a color attribute, will be classified as Colorless, ensuring their continued playability. This system, in conjunction with Boost Cards, aims to deepen strategic decision-making and enhance gameplay dynamics.

In addition to the new card packs, Tsuburaya Productions will release two designs of official card sleeves and a playmat to protect and showcase collections.
