Using the EV Green Charger Card

Once the account is active, users can follow these steps to utilize their EV Green Charger Card at a DEWA charging station:

1. Locate a convenient charging station using the DEWA or DubaiNow apps.
2. Drive into an allocated spot at the charging station and scan the EV Green Charger Card to initiate charging.
3. Plug in the charging cable into the vehicle.
4. After charging is complete, scan the card again to stop the charging cycle and unplug the cable.

Charging fees will be added to the next Green Bill, which is the digital monthly statement provided by DEWA.

Charging Costs for EVs

As of January 2025, free charging for non-commercial EV users in Dubai has been discontinued. DEWA now operates under a fee-based structure as per UAE Cabinet Decision No. 81 of 2024. The UAE’s first government-owned EV charging network, UAEV, has established the following standardized tariffs set by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure:
