Dubai Police Launches Smart Home Security System: Safeguard Your Home with 24/7 Monitoring

Dubai Police has introduced a Smart Home Security System that offers residents a comprehensive solution for safeguarding their homes. This innovative service connects directly to the authorities, ensuring that any potential threats are promptly addressed. The system is particularly beneficial for those planning to travel during the summer months, providing peace of mind through continuous monitoring.

Overview of the Smart Home Security System

Developed by Dubai Police in collaboration with e& (formerly Etisalat), the Smart Home Security System is designed to deliver real-time surveillance and protection against unauthorized access. As the first 24/7 monitored home security system in the UAE, it aims to enhance the safety of residential areas. While it is especially useful during periods of absence, the service is available year-round.

Eligibility Requirements

To enroll in the Smart Home Security System, applicants must be residents of Dubai and possess a valid Emirates ID along with an active email address. The service is accessible to both villa owners and tenants, making it a versatile option for various living arrangements.

Functionality of the System

The Smart Home Security System employs a network of advanced sensors and cameras strategically placed around the property. These devices continuously monitor for suspicious activities and relay alerts to a dedicated 24/7 monitoring station operated by Dubai Police. In the event of a potential security threat, the monitoring team is responsible for notifying the authorities immediately, ensuring a rapid response.

All alerts are verified by e& command centers prior to being communicated to Dubai Police for prompt action.

Key Devices Included

The system comprises a range of sophisticated devices that collectively provide a robust security solution. Professional technicians handle the installation and maintenance of these devices, which include:

  • Motion Detectors: These high-tech detectors activate alerts upon detecting unusual movement, capable of distinguishing between normal activities and genuine threats, thereby minimizing false alarms.

  • Door/Window Sensors: Installed discreetly, these sensors form the first line of defense against intruders. They are strategically placed to detect unauthorized entry and trigger immediate alerts to the monitoring center, establishing a secure perimeter around the home.

  • Touch Screen Hub: This central control unit features a user-friendly interface, allowing homeowners to manage all connected devices. Users can receive notifications and control various system functionalities from this hub.

Responding to Security Alerts

While the system is designed to monitor homes continuously, residents may wonder how to respond to alerts. In the event of a security alert, Dubai Police advises following the instructions provided by the monitoring team. They will guide residents on the appropriate next steps, including whether to evacuate or await police assistance.

Cost Structure

The Smart Home Security System entails a one-time installation fee along with monthly monitoring charges. The service also includes a warranty period during which maintenance is provided at no additional cost. The pricing breakdown is as follows:

  • One-time Payment: Dh3,261.30 (including 5% VAT)
  • One-Year Payment via Installments: Dh311.85 (including 5% VAT) with an additional Dh261.45 in upfront charges
  • Three-Year Payment via Installments: Dh147 (including 5% VAT) with an additional Dh261.45 in upfront charges

These costs encompass professional installation, 24/7 monitoring, and ongoing maintenance to ensure uninterrupted security.
