MoHESR Unveils Enhanced Edu Hub Platform to Streamline Higher Education Admissions for 40,000 Students

Abu Dhabi: The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR) has launched an updated version of its registration and admissions platform, known as Edu Hub, aimed at simplifying the application process for higher education institutions (HEIs). This initiative is designed to assist students in navigating their educational pathways more efficiently.

AI-Driven Enhancements for Student Support

The revamped Edu Hub platform incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the user experience. It facilitates the exploration of various HEIs and academic programs, streamlining the application submission process and future planning for students. This integration is expected to significantly improve the overall student journey.

Developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the platform merges data and processes from both secondary and higher education sectors. This integration aids students in making informed decisions regarding their academic futures.

User-Friendly Interface and Features

The updated platform boasts a new user interface that prioritizes simplicity and clarity. It includes dedicated dashboards tailored for students, schools, and higher education institutions. Designed according to international best practices, the platform aims to provide a seamless digital experience while supporting the Ministry’s objectives of enhancing government service efficiency and reducing bureaucratic hurdles.

Amani AlBannay, Assistant Undersecretary for the Support Services Sector and Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Operations Sector at MoHESR, stated that the updates are a significant advancement in improving the efficiency and speed of application and registration procedures at HEIs. The platform allows students to easily modify and update their applications, making the registration process more streamlined.

Comprehensive Support for Students and Institutions

Edu Hub is designed to cater to students in different grades. Grade 10 and Grade 11 students can explore HEIs and academic programs early, allowing them to plan their future studies without the immediate need to submit applications. For Grade 12 students and those beyond, the platform enables a complete digital application process, from document uploads to tracking admission decisions. Grade 12 students can also create personal profiles, allowing them to submit multiple applications without re-entering their information.

The platform is integrated with the Ministry of Education’s systems and other relevant government entities, including UAE PASS, facilitating seamless data exchange and verification. This integration simplifies the registration process, reducing the need for students to repeatedly upload or enter information from various sources.

Current Participation and Future Expansion

Currently, 74 public and private HEIs are registered on the Edu Hub platform, including the UAE’s three federal universities: United Arab Emirates University, Higher Colleges of Technology, and Zayed University. Plans are in place to expand access to additional institutions, with expectations that over 40,000 students will benefit from the platform during its current phase.

In conjunction with the platform’s launch, MoHESR has introduced a comprehensive support system for higher education institutions. This includes dedicated business and technical support teams, direct communication channels, and regular coordination meetings to address challenges and gather feedback. This initiative underscores the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring a smooth rollout of the platform and enhancing the admissions and registration processes.

Edu Hub is a crucial component of MoHESR’s strategy to streamline procedures, improve the student experience, and enhance operational efficiency within the UAE’s higher education system. The service is accessible through the Ministry’s website and mobile application via the Services Portal.
