Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment Launches “Housing Pioneers” Initiative to Strengthen Future Leadership in Housing Sector
Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment has unveiled the “Housing Pioneers” initiative, aimed at cultivating visionary and resilient leaders capable of driving transformation in the housing sector. This initiative focuses on empowering second-line leaders and preparing a new generation equipped to lead institutional change and foster sustainable innovation.
His Excellency Mohammed Hassan Al Shehhi, CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, emphasized that the initiative serves as a comprehensive training program designed to qualify and empower emerging leaders. He noted that this program aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who advocates for investing in human capital as the cornerstone of sustainable development.
Program Structure and Objectives
The initiative brought together 15 second-line leaders who engaged in an intensive experience aimed at enhancing departmental readiness for the future and bolstering institutional resilience. Al Shehhi highlighted that the program is designed to foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, in line with the Government of Dubai’s objectives to build proactive institutions that can adapt to change.
The initiative is aligned with the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan and the Dubai Social Agenda, which seek to create a more sustainable society and improve quality of life through innovative government institutions led by capable national talents. Over six months, participants completed 162 hours of training and practical experience, totaling 2,430 hours of learning, project work, and interactive activities. The curriculum emphasized leadership, administrative, technical, and personal skills through a blend of theoretical knowledge and real-world applications.
Innovative Projects Developed
A key feature of the program is its direct connection to institutional outcomes. The initiative has led to the creation of three strategic innovative projects that serve as models for transformation in the housing sector:
Smart Hybrid Construction: This project aims to expedite construction timelines, enhance implementation quality, and utilize modern construction technologies.
Smart Maintenance of Houses: This initiative shifts from traditional maintenance practices to proactive maintenance driven by data and smart technologies.
Drone Technology Utilization: This project employs drone technologies to monitor construction projects, audit productivity, improve oversight efficiency, and enhance decision-making quality.
Fostering a Collaborative Culture
The initiative’s impact extends beyond the participants, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation across various departments. It has led to the launch of over twenty knowledge-based and development-oriented activities, encouraging employees and leaders to translate knowledge into actionable results.
One notable initiative is the “Coffee and Book” program, which involved distributing the book “Life Taught Me” by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Weekly discussions on its content within departments have promoted a culture of continuous learning and a positive work environment.
Measurable Outcomes and Recognition
The program has demonstrated significant success, with a participant satisfaction rate of 99.7%. It has received international accreditation, and participants have earned nine specialized local and international certificates that support their professional and leadership development. The program’s influence has also positively impacted nearly 200 employees within the teams led by participants, enhancing overall institutional performance and future readiness.
During the graduation ceremony, participants were awarded the “Leadership Medal,” and the team that developed the Best Innovative Project was recognized. Additionally, the top five leaders in various categories were honored, reflecting the establishment’s commitment to recognizing achievement and fostering institutional excellence.
One participant’s appointment to the role of Assistant Director General underscores the initiative’s effectiveness in identifying and nurturing leadership talent, preparing them for greater responsibilities and contributions to institutional decision-making.
