Dubai Issues Over 374,000 Golden Visas Since 2021, Strengthening Family Stability and Community Sustainability

Dubai’s General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing services related to the Golden Visa, particularly on the occasion of International Family Day, celebrated on May 15. The initiative aims to bolster family stability and improve the quality of life for residents, aligning with Dubai’s vision of fostering a cohesive and sustainable society.

Integrated Service System for Families

The Dubai Residency is actively developing an integrated service system designed to support families. This initiative is part of Dubai’s broader strategy to position itself as a premier global city for living, working, and settling. The ongoing enhancements are in line with the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which emphasizes the importance of family as the foundation of the nation, as articulated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The goal is to create happier, more connected families while also supporting the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. This agenda seeks to elevate Dubai’s status among the top three global cities by making it more attractive to talents, families, and investors from around the world.

Digital Services Enhancing Family Stability

Dubai Residency is expanding its range of digital services aimed at facilitating family stability. These services include visa options for visiting relatives and friends, residency issuance for family members, and various passport-related services. The digital framework also allows for the issuance and renewal of passports, replacement of lost or damaged passports, and modifications to family book data, among other services. This interconnected digital system is designed to streamline processes and enhance the overall quality of life for families.

Golden Visa Program and Its Impact

The Golden Visa program is a key component of Dubai’s strategy to attract diverse talent. It caters to several specialized categories, including investors, real estate investors, scientists, specialists, entrepreneurs, humanitarian entrepreneurs, and retirees. The program allows first-degree family members of these individuals to also benefit from its advantages. This initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to fostering a stable community environment that promotes family balance and sustainability.

Recent data from Dubai Residency indicates a significant increase in the number of family members residing in Dubai from 2021 to the first quarter of 2026. The total number of residences issued to families has surpassed 100,286. Additionally, there are over 70,247 residences for families of scholars and specialists, 37,022 for investors’ families, and 3,259 for retirees’ families. The overall total of residences issued, including those for entrepreneurs and outstanding students, stands at 374,679.

Supporting Social Stability and Quality of Life

These figures highlight the role of Dubai Residency in promoting social stability and enhancing the quality of life. The digital and proactive services offered are grounded in innovation and institutional integration. The aim is to continually improve the family experience through integrated digital channels that facilitate quick and efficient service completion. This government model leverages technology and artificial intelligence to create a smoother experience, further solidifying Dubai’s reputation as a global destination for families and talents.

H.E. Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs – Dubai, emphasized that families are the cornerstone of stable and prosperous societies. He noted that the development of related services is a crucial aspect of Dubai’s future vision.

He stated that Dubai is establishing a global model that prioritizes people and families in its development efforts. The ongoing growth in family and Golden Visa stays reflects increasing global confidence in Dubai as a desirable place to live and settle. This trend underscores the emirate’s success in cultivating an advanced community environment that attracts talent and families from around the world.
