During a recent visit to Dubai International Airport, Sheikh Hamdan commended the exceptional performance of the teams operating under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports, and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.

Accompanied by Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed, Sheikh Hamdan reviewed various operations at Dubai International Airport, focusing on passenger services provided by Emirates. His visit included a tour of the Dubai Police operations center, where he received insights into its role in enhancing airport security and travel safety through advanced smart services. The ongoing upgrades in smart technology aim to improve efficiency, streamline passenger flow, expedite travel procedures, and enhance overall passenger comfort.

Sheikh Hamdan expressed pride in the teams at Dubai Airports, Emirates, and flydubai, noting that the aviation ecosystem maintains smooth operations despite evolving conditions. He highlighted the resilience and preparedness of Dubai’s systems, emphasizing the central role of Dubai Airports in supporting the city’s sustainable growth and its position as a bridge between global markets.

Looking ahead, Sheikh Hamdan outlined Dubai Airports’ commitment to advancing its expansion plans in line with the vision to shape the future of global aviation. During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan received a briefing on the Emirates Network Operations Control Centre, which serves as the nerve center for the airline’s operations. The center has undergone recent upgrades, incorporating advanced artificial intelligence, high-precision computer vision systems, and real-time geospatial mapping. These technologies enable proactive monitoring of flight movements, weather conditions, and global developments, facilitating rapid response and efficient operations management. This ensures on-time arrivals and departures while supporting seamless cargo and logistics operations through integrated departmental coordination.

Sheikh Hamdan was joined by several dignitaries during his visit, including His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism; His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai’s General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs; and His Excellency Lieutenant General Awad Hader Al Muhairi, Vice President of Dubai’s State Security Department.

Record Performance at Dubai International Airport

Dubai International Airport achieved a significant milestone in 2025, welcoming over 95 million passengers and maintaining its status as the world’s busiest international airport for the twelfth consecutive year. The total number of flight movements reached 454,800, marking a 3.3% increase year-on-year. This growth reflects sustained network and capacity expansion throughout the year, underscoring the importance of the aviation sector in Dubai’s economic landscape.
