Al Jalila Foundation Strengthens Healthcare with AED435 Million in 2025 Donations

Dubai: Al Jalila Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Dubai Health, announced that it received AED435 million in donor contributions in 2025. This funding has enabled the Foundation to support 13 strategic healthcare initiatives, positively impacting 9,737 beneficiaries across the UAE.

The Foundation plays a crucial role in advancing Dubai Health’s vision to “advance health for humanity.” By integrating care, learning, discovery, and philanthropy, it translates donor generosity into sustainable healthcare outcomes for the community.

Her Excellency Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, Chairperson of Al Jalila Foundation’s Board of Directors and a member of the Dubai Health Board, emphasized that the Foundation’s achievements reflect the confidence placed in its mission. She noted that the accomplishments in 2025 demonstrate the trust donors and partners have in advancing health for humanity. Dr. Al Gurg stated that this generosity drives progress in patient care, accelerates research, and supports education, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to fostering a culture of giving.

Strengthening Healthcare Through Generosity

Dr. Amer Al Zarooni, Chief Executive Officer of Al Jalila Foundation, commented on the Foundation’s performance, highlighting its alignment with national values and community priorities. He expressed pride in the progress made in 2025, which reflects a commitment to amplifying the impact of generosity within the community. The year was particularly significant as it aligned with the UAE’s Year of Community, celebrating solidarity and collective contribution.

Dr. Al Zarooni expressed gratitude to the donors and partners whose support sustains the Foundation’s programs. Their contributions enable the expansion of access to essential care, accelerate medical innovation, and empower the next generation of healthcare professionals, ultimately building a healthier and more sustainable future.

Care, Learning, and Community Impact

In 2025, Al Jalila Foundation provided medical support to 3,628 patients through its care programs, including The Child Fund, which offers critical treatment for children, and A’awen, which assists UAE-based patients in need of medical help.

The Foundation also supported Dubai Health’s learning and discovery missions by awarding 44 scholarships and funding 24 research grants focused on priority health areas such as cancer, allergies, and infectious diseases. These research initiatives resulted in 15 peer-reviewed publications, four postgraduate theses, 67 conference presentations, and 69 training opportunities for healthcare professionals and researchers.

Community engagement remained a vital pillar of impact, reaching 6,041 beneficiaries through various programs. This included 2,209 individuals supported by the Ta’alouf Programme, which empowers people of determination and their caregivers, and 3,532 individuals who benefited from Wellness on Wheels, a mobile clinic initiative providing screening and diagnostic services. Additionally, 300 new members joined Majlis Al Amal, the UAE’s first community center dedicated to the wellbeing of female cancer patients.

Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital: A Flagship Donor-Supported Project

A significant reflection of donor generosity is the Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Hospital, developed by Dubai Health. Spanning 59,000 square meters, the hospital is being constructed with environmentally sustainable principles and will provide a comprehensive continuum of cancer care, from early diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation and supportive services. Once operational, the hospital is set to serve as a regional center of excellence for cancer treatment, research, and innovation.

Strategic Growth Through The Hope Fund

Through The Hope Fund, Al Jalila Foundation advanced healthcare innovation in 2025 by supporting 13 strategic projects aimed at expanding capacity across Dubai Health facilities. These initiatives include specialized diagnostic and treatment units, residential endowments, and innovation and research centers designed to strengthen long-term healthcare infrastructure.

Sustaining a Culture of Giving

Throughout the year, the Foundation activated its philanthropic mission through donor and community engagement events, including The Evening of Hope, Pioneers of Giving, and The Hope Run. These initiatives contributed to sustained awareness and long-term impact.

Aligned with national priorities, Al Jalila Foundation also advanced initiatives supporting families and quality of life, reinforcing its role as a key enabler of health, wellbeing, and social cohesion across the UAE.
