This initiative is designed to celebrate Emirati culture while fostering a sense of community among both residents and visitors. By offering a range of engaging activities and events throughout the holy month, the programme promises to immerse everyone in the unique atmosphere surrounding Ramadan. Part of the larger Season of Wulfa initiative, which emphasizes family ties and the celebration of Emirati traditions, here’s a closer look at what attendees can expect from the Ramadan Nights programme.

Unveiling the Ramadan Nights Programme

The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority’s Ramadan Nights programme is poised to take place at various cultural and heritage sites across the city. According to reports from the Dubai Media Office, the initiative will showcase a variety of activities and performances deeply rooted in local customs and traditions.

Interactive Highlights at Al Safa Art & Design Library

One of the highlights will be the outdoor courtyard of the Al Safa Art & Design Library, which will feature a collection of workshops and interactive events organized by Dubai Public Libraries under the School of Life initiative. These workshops aim to nurture cultural understanding and life skills within the community. Attendees can look forward to a Free Drawing Space, where everyone can create artwork inspired by the spirit of Ramadan. Additionally, a Ramadan thoughts wall will allow participants to share literary reflections and personal messages, fostering connection and creativity.

Activities for Families and Children

Families and children can also enjoy a range of activities, such as the Ramadan Lantern Decorating station and the Colouring Wall, which encourages young artists to create their own lantern-themed artwork. A Treasure Hunt adventure adds an element of excitement, with puzzles and hidden Ramadan symbols scattered throughout the library. For those who love board games, a dedicated corner will offer a selection for all ages, and traditional Ramadan majlis setups will create a welcoming environment. Throughout the evenings, visitors can explore henna art, delve into Arabic calligraphy, and even participate in perfume-making workshops.

The programme will also feature live musical performances, traditional storytelling, and choral acts, all inspired by the themes of the holy month. A creative market will highlight local artists and entrepreneurs, offering a platform to showcase their Ramadan-inspired artwork and handmade goods.

Engaging Experiences at Al Shindagha Museum

At Al Shindagha Museum, visitors can partake in cultural activations centered around traditional Arish. The venue will host Iftar majlis events, including live cooking demonstrations led by talented Emirati chefs. Storytelling sessions at the museum will emphasize values such as generosity and hospitality, as well as providing insights into Emirati cuisine. Additionally, live demonstrations of traditional crafts using palm materials will offer interactive experiences that spotlight heritage skills and products.

Exploring More at Local Museums

Meanwhile, the Etihad Museum will screen “Mountain Boy,” followed by an informative discussion to engage attendees further. The Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children will also offer a vibrant array of workshops and interactive sessions, all reflecting the values of Ramadan. Activities will allow participants to explore Islamic arts, practice henna design, connect with local artists in the artist’s market, understand basic music techniques, sample traditional dishes, and indulge in games—creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere.

This comprehensive programme offers a multifaceted experience designed to connect people to the rich traditions of Ramadan, making it an unmissable opportunity during this special month.
