## Patrick Reed Extends Lead at Hero Dubai Desert Classic

### A Stellar Performance on Moving Day

In an impressive display of skill, Patrick Reed has surged into a commanding four-shot lead heading into the final round of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. His round of 67 on Saturday—a critical day often referred to as “Moving Day”—has put him in a strong position as he seeks his first Rolex Series victory.

### Early Competition from Molinari

Reed started the day with a slim lead at nine under but was quickly overtaken by Francesco Molinari, who made a remarkable start. The Italian golfer, who had led after the first round, opened with three consecutive birdies, reaching ten under par early in the round. However, Reed responded impressively, matching Molinari with three birdies and two bogeys in his initial seven holes, ultimately tying him at ten under.

As Reed finished the front nine, he secured another birdie to pull ahead, and he continued his momentum into the back nine. He collected three additional birdies, pushing his score to 14 under at Emirates Golf Club.

### Reed’s Reflections

“I think the biggest thing right now is the driving,” Reed said after his round. “It feels like I’m driving the ball a little better. Once I started seeing putts drop this week, it seems like the putter is back to doing what it’s supposed to, allowing me to play freely.”

Turning to the final day, Reed expressed excitement about his lead: “You’re always excited showing up on Sunday with a lead. That’s what we all live for as players—having a chance to win. I know it won’t be easy, regardless of how big the lead is.”

### David Puig’s Impressive Surge

Spaniard David Puig made a notable ascent, finishing his round with two consecutive birdies and carding a stunning 66. This performance brought him to ten under, securing a solo second place. Being aware of the challenging field, Puig remarked, “I knew I needed a good one. Seeing Patrick Reed and the other top players, I felt the pressure to perform.”

### Hovland and Sullivan Close Behind

Not far behind Puig, 2022 champion Viktor Hovland and England’s Andy Sullivan are just one shot back at nine under. Hovland had a breakthrough day, recording a bogey-free 65. He highlighted his consistency, saying, “It was very nice and steady today. Hitting a lot of fairways makes a difference. This course is challenging, but if I get off the tee well, I know I can make things happen.”

Sullivan, who faced some early setbacks with bogeys on the eighth and ninth holes, made a strong comeback with three birdies on the back nine, showing resilience and skill.

### Grouping of Competitors

In a tightly contested leaderboard, Italian golfers Francesco Molinari and Andrea Pavan are currently tied for fifth at eight under. They are joined by Denmark’s Thorbjorn Olesen and Spain’s Jorge Campillo, both at seven under.

Among others, Nicolai Hojgaard leads a group at six under, which includes South African players Jayden Schaper, Hennie du Plessis, and amateur Christiaan Maas. French players Julien Guerrier and Martin Couvra also share this position, making for an exciting final round ahead.

### Looking Ahead

With the final round looming, the stage is set for a thrilling conclusion to the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. Fans can expect intense competition as players strive to catch Reed and solidify their standings in this prestigious tournament.
