UAE–India Business Council Launches 2026 Programme
The UAE–India Business Council has unveiled its ambitious programme for 2026, aimed at enhancing strategic collaboration between the two nations. Building on the substantial progress made in the previous year, this initiative seeks to strengthen economic ties and foster partnership growth.
Key Pillars of the 2026 Roadmap
The new framework is anchored in three primary pillars: knowledge building, strategic facilitation, and direct engagement. Central to this initiative will be the development of policy papers that explore the incorporation of artificial intelligence, infrastructure improvements, the influence of sovereign wealth funds, consumer behavior, and supply chain dynamics. Additionally, the programme envisions collaborative projects in Africa, reinforcing the partnership’s global outlook.
Recent Milestones in Cooperation
In 2025, the Council hosted its inaugural “India–UAE: Partners in Progress Conclave,” which was a gathering of senior policymakers, investors, and influential business leaders. A pivotal closed-door meeting took place in Dubai with Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry. This meeting underscored a commitment to aligning policies and shared economic goals, marking a significant step forward in bilateral relations.
Advancements in Social Infrastructure
The Council has reported meaningful strides in establishing the UAE–India Friendship Hospital, a testament to the shared focus on enhancing social infrastructure and healthcare. Efforts are also underway to promote education and community development through the DREAM School initiative in Kashmir, which aims to improve access to education and foster skills training for the local population.
Future Initiatives to Elevate Trade and Investment
Looking ahead, the Council is poised to lead a series of policy discussions and reciprocal trade missions targeting priority sectors such as advanced manufacturing, clean energy, fintech, and healthcare innovation. These initiatives are designed to escalate bilateral trade and investment to a remarkable US$200 billion, reinforcing the commitment to mutual economic benefit.
Engagement in Global Forums
In line with its forward-thinking approach, the Council will also share its expertise at the World Governments Summit 2026. This participation is an affirmation of its pivotal role in bridging the gap between visionary policy and practical economic implementation in the evolving UAE–India strategic partnership.
This new programme reflects the Council’s dedication to facilitating a cooperative environment that champions economic growth and social development, thereby paving the way for a prosperous future between the UAE and India.
