Dubai to Host the 2025 Asian Youth Para Games
Having previously showcased its expertise by hosting the event in 2017, Dubai is set to welcome athletes from across the globe once again for the Asian Youth Para Games in 2025. Scheduled from December 10 to 13, this prestigious event will be held at eight exceptional venues, highlighting Dubai’s growing reputation as a premier destination for Para sports.
Opening Ceremony Details
The Opening Ceremony is planned for December 10 at the Dubai Club for People of Determination Stadium. With all necessary arrangements finalized, the Organising Committee aims to deliver an extraordinary experience under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who serves as the President of the UAE National Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council.
Sports and Competitions
This year’s Games will feature competitions in 11 different sports. Athletes will showcase their skills in para athletics, para swimming, boccia, para powerlifting, para table tennis, para archery, goalball, para badminton, wheelchair basketball, para taekwondo, and para armwrestling—an exciting addition to the event.
Participation and Representation
Iran is set to bring the largest delegation to the Games, with a team of 195 athletes. The country excelled at the last competition in Bahrain in 2021, where they topped the medal table with a remarkable 51 gold medals. Following Iran, Uzbekistan (124 athletes), Thailand (122 athletes), and India (also 122 athletes) will also make significant appearances, showcasing their commitment to youth development and excellence in Para sports.
The UAE will proudly field a team of 55 athletes, demonstrating the development of Para sports within the nation. Organizations like the Asian Paralympic Committee and Dubai Club for People of Determination are instrumental in promoting inclusion and accessibility in sports across the region.

This announcement was made at a press conference on Thursday at the Dubai Sports Council. The event was graced by key figures including Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council; Thani Juma Berregad, Chairman of the Organising Committee; Majid Rashed, President of the Asian Paralympic Committee, along with various representatives from partner organizations. More than 40 sponsors and partners were also introduced, reinforcing the collaborative spirit behind this significant event.
