Emirates Invests AED 50 Million in Next-Generation Lounges, Elevating Global Travel Experience

Dubai: Emirates has announced the launch of a next-generation signature lounge concept, set to be rolled out across key cities worldwide this year. This initiative represents a significant investment in enhancing the customer experience on the ground. The new design was first unveiled at the Emirates Lounge in Munich and Frankfurt, with additional lounges planned for Manchester, Mauritius, and Istanbul in the coming months. This latest concept serves as a model for Emirates lounges globally, showcasing the airline’s commitment to exceptional hospitality, luxury, and innovation.

Emirates plans to invest over AED 50 million in each of these next-generation lounges, highlighting its dedication to providing world-class facilities throughout its international network. The lounges in Munich and Frankfurt are already operational, while the Manchester lounge is scheduled to open in July, followed by Mauritius in August and Istanbul in October.

The new lounge design reflects the sophisticated aesthetic of Emirates’ latest cabin interiors, creating a seamless on-ground experience. Customers can anticipate contemporary architecture, integrated technology, locally inspired dining options, and wellness-focused amenities tailored for premium travelers. The lounges are designed to accommodate various activities, allowing customers to work, dine, relax, and connect while traveling, thus setting a new standard for premium airport lounges.

Adel Al Redha, Deputy President and Chief Operations Officer at Emirates, stated that the investment in the next-generation signature lounge concept underscores the airline’s commitment to providing a seamless, premium experience at every stage of the journey. He emphasized that these lounges combine luxurious interiors with the elevated hospitality and innovation that Emirates is known for, creating spaces where customers can relax and prepare for their travels in comfort. As this concept expands globally, it aims to establish a new benchmark for airport lounges and strengthen Emirates’ premium offering.

Inspired by the elegant design of Emirates’ cabin interiors and flagship lounges in Dubai, the new lounges feature over 50 design enhancements. These include distinct zones for relaxation, work, socializing, and dining. The lounges exhibit a recognizable Emirates aesthetic, characterized by integrated lighting, herringbone flooring, marble and gold accents, and the signature backlit Emirates Ghaf Tree motif, which pays homage to UAE culture.

Focused Work and Productivity in Emirates Lounges

For travelers wishing to work or stay connected, the new lounges provide private areas alongside communal spaces designed to serve as social hubs and working environments. Features such as Italian eco-leather seating, wireless charging, and universal power access at every seat enhance productivity. A dedicated artefact wall pays tribute to local artists and Emirati culture, while Emirates’ signature Rolex clocks display global time zones.

Elevated Dining in Emirates Lounges

The dining areas in the new lounge design have been reimagined to focus on culinary theatre and live cooking. Menus will offer a diverse range of international cuisine, highlighting regional specialties and a dedicated “Made In” section that showcases local flavors. Live cooking stations will prepare dishes à la minute, while hot and cold buffet selections will be refreshed throughout the day. A dedicated bread oven will provide freshly baked pizzas, flatbreads, and manakeesh inspired by Dubai.

Premium beverages will continue to be available through Emirates’ curated selection of wines, beers, champagne, and spirits. A new barista concept will feature a dedicated mixologist serving locally inspired cocktails, mocktails, specialty coffees, and artisan teas.

Restorative Relaxation in Emirates Lounges

Guests will enter a tranquil environment enhanced by Emirates’ signature scent, which combines bergamot, citrus, jasmine, and soft wood, complemented by local plants and fresh floral displays. Upgraded shower suites will feature spa-inspired finishes and sustainable VOYA amenities for customer refreshment.

Dedicated male and female prayer rooms will provide serene settings for spiritual reflection, complete with ablution facilities and Qibla direction integrated into the design.

For those needing rest during layovers, the Quiet Zone will offer a peaceful retreat with plush seating, soft lighting, and sleep amenities such as blankets, eye masks, and earplugs. Additional facilities will include private meeting spaces and breastfeeding areas, ensuring that all customer needs are met. All Emirates Lounges will operate as quiet environments, ensuring a tranquil experience for travelers.
