Dubai’s highly anticipated annual festival, Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), returns this year with an expanded lineup of events and offerings. Scheduled from July 2 to August 30, 2026, the festival promises over eight weeks of shopping, entertainment, and family-friendly experiences. Attendees will have the chance to win a variety of prizes, including homes, luxury vehicles, gold, and cash. Organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) under the theme “Make it a Dubai Summer,” the festival aims to enhance the city’s vibrant summer atmosphere.

Opening Weekend Celebrations: Free Concerts

The festival will kick off with a series of free concerts across various malls in Dubai. Notable performances include:

  • Dubai Hills Mall: Lebanese singer Amanda Maalouf and Emirati artist Saif Al Ali will perform on July 3, followed by Palestinian-Canadian artist Donia and Emirati star Arqam Al Abri on July 4.
  • Mirdif City Centre: International DJ Akmaral and Iraqi pop singer Rahma Riad will take the stage on July 3, while DJ Mowgli and Star Academy winner Nassif Zeytoun will perform on July 4.
  • Mall of the Emirates: The Samratna concert featuring Mohamed Al Bakri will occur on July 3, showcasing intimate Khaleeji music.
  • JAFZA One Convention Centre: The Assem Sukkar Spacetoon Concert will be held on July 4, celebrating iconic theme songs from the Spacetoon series.
  • Dubai Opera: Theatre enthusiasts can attend the Khairan Resort production, a light-hearted Kuwaiti comedy, from July 3-4.

Win Your Home in Dubai

In conjunction with DSS, the “Win Your Home in Dubai” campaign has already announced two winners, with a third to be revealed during the opening weekend. The campaign offers 12 residential units, including 11 studio apartments and a two-bedroom apartment as the grand prize, provided by Binghatti Developers. Participants can enter the draw by spending AED 500 at any of the 1,000+ participating outlets.

Raffle Draws for Cars, Gold, Cash, and More

Numerous raffle draws will take place throughout the festival, including:

  • Dubai Summer Surprises Raffles: Ten Exceed cars will be available for those spending AED 200 or more at participating malls.
  • Gold Raffles: DFRE will award eight winners a share of 2kg of gold, with one winner receiving 1kg for spending AED 500 on jewelry.
  • 2026 Gongfeng 007 and AED 500,000: This offer is valid until September 20 for those purchasing a Winner Pack for AED 50 at Zoom convenience stores or ENOC petrol stations.
  • MHERO Car Raffle: Shoppers spending AED 300 or more at eligible stores in Dubai Festival City Mall can enter to win an MHERO car.
  • Cash Prizes: Participants in the SHARE Millionaire loyalty program at Majid Al Futtaim malls can win one of four bi-weekly AED 100,000 prizes.
  • Jetour and Cadillac Draws: Select City Centre malls will offer a Jetour as a grand prize, while shoppers at Mercato Mall can enter to win a brand-new Cadillac.

AED 10 Dishes

Throughout August, over 70 restaurants will feature special dishes priced at AED 10. Additionally, the Summer Restaurant Week will run from July 13 to August 2, with over 60 restaurants offering discounted menus, including both mall-based and local brands.

Children’s Activities

Various mall activations will occur from July 2 to August 30, including meet-and-greets with the popular children’s character Bluey at Dubai Festival City Mall, a Minions and Monsters Fun Run at Mall of the Emirates, and a K-Pop Demon Hunters Pop-up at City Centre Mirdif.

Modesh and Dana

The festival will also feature its well-known mascots, Modesh and Dana, who will make appearances across the city. The Modesh World at Dubai World Trade Centre will return from July 3 to August 23. Additionally, the Modesh Scholarship program will offer shoppers the chance to win one of ten scholarships, each valued at AED 20,000, when shopping at participating malls.

Staycation Offers

Dubai residents can take advantage of special discounts, with nearly 100 staycation and attraction deals available during DSS. These offers will include options from five-star hotels to budget-friendly accommodations.

What’s New This Year?

This year’s festival introduces several new features, including the DSS Luxe Edition, which offers elevated shopping and lifestyle experiences, exclusive previews, and luxury pop-ups. Families can also look forward to a Back-to-School Carnival featuring live performances and interactive shows from August 7 to 8. To support local talent, SME Pop-ups will be hosted throughout the city, and various FIFA World Cup activations will be organized at popular locations.
