Dubai recently concluded a successful edition of the Asian Youth Para Games 2025, showcasing a remarkable blend of athleticism, inclusivity, and innovation. Hosted under the esteemed patronage of Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who serves as both the President of the National Olympic Committee and the Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, this event brought together an impressive contingent of 1,500 athletes from 35 countries.

A Historic Celebration

The Games wrapped up on a high note on Saturday evening, leaving behind a legacy marked by 25 extraordinary performances. Among these were 9 world records and 16 continental records, highlighting the progressive nature of Para sport in the region. The athletic displays not only inspired spectators but also set a new benchmark for excellence among competitors.

The UAE’s Impressive Medal Haul

The United Arab Emirates showcased an exceptional performance throughout the competition, concluding the event with a total of 23 medals: 6 gold, 8 silver, and 9 bronze. This achievement underscores the nation’s commitment to nurturing young talent in the world of Para sports and exemplifies its ongoing growth in this field.

Trailblazing Achievements by Participating Nations

Several participating nations marked significant milestones during the Games. Notably, both Bangladesh and the Maldives secured their first medals in the history of the Asian Youth Para Games. Bangladesh achieved an extraordinary debut by claiming three gold medals, setting a promising precedent for future competitions.

Uzbekistan emerged as the dominant force, topping the overall medal table with an impressive tally of 197 medals, including 99 gold. Following closely behind was Iran, which earned 62 gold out of its total of 216 medals, while Japan showcased its talent with a commendable collection of 40 gold medals.
