Europe’s largest inaugural tech, startup, and digital investment event, GITEX EUROPE x Ai Everything, lit up Messe Berlin this week, with the UAE’s innovative prowess prominently displayed. Over three dynamic days, the event gathered an impressive lineup of more than 1,400 exhibitors, 600 top global investors, and over 500 speakers hailing from more than 100 countries. This gathering marked a significant moment in cross-border tech cooperation, showcasing the strengthening ties among nations in the technology sector.

A Global Gathering

National pavilions extended their reach from India to Italy, Morocco to South Korea, and undulating through 35 European states. The UAE’s substantial participation underscored its growing reputation as a leader in technology advancements across various industries, particularly in governance and public services. The event provided a unique platform for the UAE to showcase its innovative potential and entrepreneurial spirit, positioning itself as a global reference for digital progression.

Rapid Growth in the UAE’s IT Market

According to fresh data from Statista, the UAE’s IT services market is anticipated to achieve record growth, projected to reach a remarkable $3.76 billion by 2025. This momentum was palpable on the show floor, where 65 UAE organizations constituted the largest entrepreneurship and digital investment delegation to a European tech event to date. The representation highlighted the UAE’s commitment to innovation and its strategic role in the global tech landscape.

Revolutionary Home-grown Ventures

The UAE’s Ministry of Economy pavilion spotlighted a selection of home-grown tech ventures aimed at tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Notable among these were:

  • Zeroe: Innovating in carbon management to help accelerate net-zero goals.
  • Hikmah Labs: Pioneering the intersection of AI and cutting-edge research to instigate transformative changes across industries.
  • IngenioData: Deploying augmented reality and Bluetooth technology for indoor navigation and asset tracking.
  • Responsive Drip Irrigation: Introducing the world’s first plant-responsive irrigation system, empowering plants to self-regulate their water needs.

These startups illustrate the UAE’s drive to harness technology for sustainable development and global impact.

Dignitaries and Insights from the UAE

Among the distinguished guests inaugurating this landmark event was Alia Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship. In her welcome address, she emphasized Germany’s significance as the UAE’s second-largest trading partner within the EU. "Berlin, as a global capital of innovation, plays a central role in that story," she proclaimed. Her remarks mirrored the collaborative spirit present at GITEX, as countries come together to co-create and innovate.

Accompanying the UAE delegation were Hazza Al Mansoori and Nora Al Matrooshi, the first Emirati astronauts. In a media briefing, Hazza Al Mansoori shared insights on the role of artificial intelligence in aerospace, highlighting advancements such as the autonomous capabilities of robots and the development of autonomous space stations.

Digital Dubai’s AI-powered Showcase

Organized by Digital Dubai, the Dubai Pavilion exhibited the city’s AI-powered evolution and innovative public services. Featuring twelve key government and private entities, the pavilion presented a wealth of technological advancements, including:

  • Dubai Dashboard: A unified platform offering a holistic view of data and indicators across various city sectors.
  • Salama: An AI-driven platform streamlining residency services with automated renewals and instant visa assistance for a seamless citizen experience.

Younus Al Nasser, Chief Executive of the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, emphasized the importance of integrating AI strategically and ethically, aiming for sustainable outcomes and tangible public value.

The Broader Spectrum of UAE’s Digital Innovation

UAE’s momentum in digital innovation transcended the pavilions as leading tech hubs, enterprises, and startups participated in the event. Tecom Investments showcased success stories from Dubai’s innovation district, while the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) reinforced the vision for future urban mobility and sustainable infrastructure.

Among the other notable participants were CAFU, the acclaimed on-demand mobile fueling service, and 6Bees, an organization enhancing productivity through AI-driven management strategies. The engagement and collaboration at GITEX reflected a collective push towards a future shaped by technology, innovation, and sustained growth.


GITEX EUROPE x Ai Everything not only served as a catalyst for technological advancement but also as a celebration of international collaboration, underscoring the potential of public-private partnerships in reshaping industries and driving sustainable growth.
