DUBAI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News / WAM – 24th May, 2025) Europe’s largest inaugural tech, startup, and digital investment event, GITEX EUROPE x Ai Everything, took place this week at Messe Berlin, with the UAE’s innovation at the forefront.

The three-day event, which concluded today, showcased more than 1,400 exhibitors, 600 top global investors, and over 500 speakers hailing from more than 100 countries. This assembly marked the most significant cross-border tech mobilization seen in Europe to date. National pavilions extended from India to Italy and Morocco to South Korea, with participation from 35 European states. The UAE’s showcase highlighted the nation’s emerging status as a global reference point for technological advancement across various sectors, including governance and public services.

The UAE’s IT services market is poised for unprecedented growth, projected to reach $3.76 billion in 2025, according to recent Statista data. This optimistic outlook was palpable on the show floor, featuring a record 65 UAE organizations—this is the nation’s largest entrepreneurship and digital investment delegation to a European tech event to date.

Highlighting home-grown tech innovations, the Ministry of Economy pavilion featured startups focused on addressing global challenges. Noteworthy participants included Zeroe, providing comprehensive carbon management solutions; Hikmah Labs, utilizing AI for transformative research; IngenioData, specializing in AR and BLE-based navigation and asset tracking; and Responsive Drip Irrigation, creators of the world’s first plant-responsive irrigation system, allowing plants to self-regulate their water delivery.

Among the dignitaries inaugurating this momentous European edition was Alia Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, who articulated the importance of this event in her welcome address. “Germany is now the UAE’s second largest trading partner within the EU,” she noted, emphasizing Berlin’s role as a global capital of innovation. “Together, we are shaping a new economic corridor, one powered by innovation and grounded in common purpose.”

UAE’s presence was further bolstered by astronauts Hazza Al Mansoori and Nora Al Matrooshi, who shared insights on how artificial intelligence is transforming aerospace. Al Mansoori explained, “For example, Simon, a floating robot, is making the lunar gateway more autonomous, as it won’t be inhabited all the time.”

The event was organized by Digital Dubai, which spotlighted the city’s AI-driven evolution and advanced public services. The Dubai Pavilion featured 12 key government and private entities, including the Dubai Police, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs, and the Dubai Future Foundation. Platinum partners included e& and Emaratech, showcasing the broader ecosystem of innovation.

Innovations on display included the Dubai Dashboard, a comprehensive city-wide platform featuring data and indicators across various sectors, and the Dubai PASS, a digital ID for secure identity verification using facial recognition technology. The Dubai Police introduced its autonomous policing ecosystem, including Ghaith, a smart patrol vehicle.

Salama, another standout platform, utilizes AI to streamline Dubai’s residency services, offering automated renewals and instant visa assistance. Younus Al Nasser, Chief Executive of the Dubai Data and Statistics Establishment, emphasized, “AI must be treated not as a tool to deploy but as a solution to integrate—strategically, ethically, and sustainably.” He underlined the key strengths of Dubai, including rapid execution and collaborative ecosystems, in turning AI potential into real-world public value.

The UAE’s momentum in digital innovation extends beyond pavilions, with leading tech hubs, enterprises, startups, and strategic investors actively participating throughout the event. The innovation district of Tecom Investments highlighted success stories from Dubai’s tech ecosystem, while the Roads and Transport Authority reaffirmed Dubai’s vision for future urban mobility and sustainable infrastructure. Other prominent participants included CAFU, the region’s on-demand mobile fueling pioneer, and 6Bees, which focuses on productivity and performance management through AI strategies.

At the conference, UAE executives addressed a range of pressing topics, from developing AI-first nations to confronting real-world tech infrastructure challenges. Key speakers included senior representatives from the UAE Cybersecurity Council, Dubai Future Foundation, and the Digital Dubai team, discussing strategies for fostering a robust tech landscape.

High-level bilateral meetings underscored the UAE’s commitment to strengthening ties with European ministers and tech leaders, focusing on advancing innovation and investment. Al Mazrouei engaged in discussions with key figures, including Kai Wegner, Governing Mayor of Berlin, and Jan Kavalírek, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade in the Czech Republic.
