A Sudden Loss

In a heart-wrenching incident, 18-year-old Vaishnav Krishnakumar, a notable recipient of the UAE Golden Visa, tragically passed away from cardiac arrest in Dubai during Diwali celebrations. The sad news was reported by local media outlets, underlining the shocking nature of his untimely demise.

Background on Vaishnav

Vaishnav was enrolled as a first-year BBA Marketing student at Middlesex University Dubai. His sudden collapse occurred during a Diwali event on Tuesday, held at Dubai International Academic City. Despite immediate medical attention, emergency responders pronounced him “brought dead due to cardiac arrest” upon arrival at the hospital (Gulf News).

Investigations and Family Response

The Dubai Police Forensic Department is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Vaishnav’s death. Family members have noted that he had no prior history of heart issues, adding to the perplexity of this tragic event. Vaishnav’s uncle, Nitish, shared with Khaleej Times that the family is in the process of arranging for his body to be returned to Kerala for final rites. They are hopeful that all necessary paperwork will be completed in time for a Friday departure.

Family and Community Connections

Vaishnav’s family, who originally hails from Chennithala in Alappuzha, Kerala, had visited their ancestral home only two years ago. Gopi Karnavar, a neighbor and relative, reflected on their infrequent visits, noting that the family’s last trip to Chennithala coincided with the housewarming of their newly built home.

Vaishnav’s father, Krishnakumar, has lived in Dubai for over two decades while his family has grown up in the emirate. According to Karnavar, Vaishnav was a bright and intelligent student, well-liked among his peers.

Community Mourning

In light of this tragedy, community members are rallying around the family. Karnavar mentioned that the body is expected to arrive home on Friday, with cremation planned for Saturday. The local community has expressed profound sorrow, with Middlesex University conveying that Vaishnav’s passing has deeply affected their community.

Tributes from Former School

The GEMS Our Own Indian School, where Vaishnav completed his secondary education, paid tribute to him, describing him as a compassionate and talented student who touched many lives. In respect for his memory, the school has postponed several upcoming events, allowing the community time to grieve this profound loss.

Remembering Vaishnav

Teachers and classmates remembered Vaishnav as a caring and inspiring young man whose impact on their lives was undeniable. His sudden passing has reverberated through the Indian community in Dubai, reminding many of life’s unpredictable nature.

Vaishnav leaves behind his grieving parents, VG Krishnakumar and Vidhu Krishnakumar, as well as his younger sister, Vrishti Krishnakumar. The family now faces the challenging task of coping with this unexpected loss amidst the celebration season, underscoring the fragility of life and the importance of community support during difficult times.
