Cairo, Egypt: Tetra Pak has been awarded Distinguished Recognition by the International Society for Service Innovation Professionals (ISSIP) for its Tetra Pak®️ Plant Secure initiative, part of the Tetra Pak®️ Advanced Agreements. This accolade acknowledges the measurable business impact Tetra Pak has made in the food and beverage production sector.

Celebrating 45 Years in Egypt

This recognition coincides with Tetra Pak’s 45-year anniversary in the Egyptian market. Since its inception in Egypt, Tetra Pak has significantly contributed to the advancement of the food and beverage industry by offering innovative processing and packaging solutions. These solutions have enhanced food safety standards and improved production efficiency for numerous local and regional enterprises.

Commitment to Sustainability

In recent years, Tetra Pak has intensified its investments in sustainability and the circular economy. Collaborations with local partners and government entities have led to the development of an integrated system for collecting and recycling used beverage cartons. A notable achievement is the establishment of Egypt’s first dedicated recycling line for used carton packages in Sadat City, with joint investments surpassing EUR 2.5 million and an annual production capacity of up to 8,000 tons.

The ‘Business Impact’ category specifically acknowledges solutions that extend beyond operational metrics to enhance financial performance.

Tetra Pak®️ Advanced Agreements are designed to optimize entire factories with guaranteed cost and performance outcomes. These agreements integrate digitally enabled World Class Manufacturing methodologies, workforce development, and long-term improvement initiatives to address operational gaps throughout the factory. By fostering close partnerships and employing a shared risk model, Tetra Pak®️ Advanced Agreements ensure outcomes such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), operational cost reductions, and uptime guarantees.

Recent data indicates that Tetra Pak®️ Advanced Agreements have achieved an average 9% improvement in Overall Equipment Effectiveness and an 11% reduction in operational costs, along with a 94% renewal rate, underscoring long-term customer value.

This recognition underscores the increasing importance of Tetra Pak®️ Advanced Agreements in assisting food and beverage producers who face mounting pressure to reduce costs, enhance output, and maintain quality. Sasha Ilyukhin, Senior Vice President of Global Processing Services and Services Solutions at Tetra Pak, stated that food and beverage producers are under increasing pressure to enhance performance while navigating rising costs and operational complexities. He noted that the ISSIP award emphasizes the value of the long-term partnerships Tetra Pak has established with its customers, focusing on measurable outcomes, shared accountability, and continuous improvement.

Ilyukhin added that Tetra Pak®️ Advanced Agreements commit to clear and measurable deliverables while sharing risks, providing customers with not just immediate improvements but also long-term confidence in their business performance.

Haluk Demirkan, President of ISSIP for 2026, expressed satisfaction in recognizing the excellence of service innovation efforts within the ISSIP community. He highlighted that this year’s submissions showcased the best across various sectors, including industry, academia, NGOs, and government entities, with initiatives designed to benefit people, businesses, and society in meaningful ways.

The ISSIP Excellence in Service Innovation Awards are evaluated by the ISSIP Award Committee, which includes the ISSIP Executive Committee and selected technical advisors. The evaluation criteria encompass uniqueness, creativity, technical merit, value generation, and impact.
