On November 13, acclaimed actress Tabu made a stunning appearance at a fashion show for the renowned designer duo, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla. Donning a bold black outfit as the showstopper, she took the opportunity to express her contentment with the timing of her acting career. Additionally, she shared insights into her intriguing role in the HBO Max series, Dune: Prophecy.

Tabu Reflects on Her 1990s Acting Debut

Following the fashion event, Tabu shared her thoughts with Diet Sabya regarding the possibility of debuting as a Gen Z actor. She stated, “I don’t think I’ll be entering the movies now. I’m happy I did when I did.” Starting her journey in the industry as a child actor in Dev Anand’s Hum Naujawan (1985), she later took on a lead role in Pehla Pehla Pyar (1994) alongside Rishi Kapoor. Her sense of timing seems well-considered, given the industry’s evolution over the decades.

A Celebration of Friendship and Fashion

As the showstopper, Tabu showcased a striking reinterpretation of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla’s iconic Architectural Coat. With a deep-rooted friendship that spans 25 years, she expressed her admiration for the design duo, saying, “I have always worn Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for my most special occasions, and I am so glad to call them my friends. They are masters of making a woman feel beautiful.” Tabu further commented on the remarkable garments showcased during the event, stating, “The garments for this show were supremely breathtaking, and I’ve never before seen such a fabulous interpretation of traditional crafts reimagined with a surreal twist.”

Exploring Complex Love Stories in Dune: Prophecy

In a separate discussion, Tabu talked about her role as Sister Francesca in the HBO Max prequel series, Dune: Prophecy. This character, who is the former lover of Emperor Javicco Corrino, played by Mark Strong, adds layers of complexity to the narrative. Commenting on the romantic undertones of her character, she noted, “It’ll be a very difficult love story because it was a difficult and tragic love story. I actually don’t want to have that kind of a love story in real life.” Such reflections highlight the emotional depth she brings to her roles while making clear her boundaries regarding love in her personal life.

Upcoming Ventures

The storyline in Dune: Prophecy takes some grim turns, as both Javicco and Francesca meet with unfortunate ends. With filming for the second season already underway, Tabu is poised for a busy period ahead. Alongside this project, she is set to appear in Bhooth Bangla and an untitled Telugu film alongside actor Vijay Sethupathi, continuing to showcase her versatility across different genres.
