Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance, met with Bruce Richards, Chairman and CEO of CVC Marathon, to discuss enhancing investment and asset management ties. The meeting, held at Sheikh Maktoum’s office, focused on the evolving global financial landscape and the UAE’s attractiveness to international investors.

The dialogue underscored the UAE’s strategic position as a gateway to regional and global markets, bolstered by its diversified economy. Sheikh Maktoum emphasized Dubai’s proactive approach to financial sector development, which includes embracing innovation and creating opportunities for both established businesses and emerging ventures.

Investment Opportunities and Regulatory Framework

During the meeting, Sheikh Maktoum highlighted the emirate’s advanced regulatory framework and world-class infrastructure, which provide international investment firms with the confidence to expand their operations. He noted that Dubai’s integrated financial ecosystem is designed to foster growth and facilitate new partnerships.

CVC Marathon, which has over $24 billion in assets under management, has a significant presence in the asset management sector. The firm, originally founded as Marathon Asset Management in 1998, became part of CVC in July 2023. Since its inception, CVC Marathon has invested more than $250 billion, showcasing its robust investment capabilities.
