Sharjah Police Boost Desert Security for Winter Tourism Season

As the winter tourism season approaches, Sharjah Police are ramping up their security measures across the desert areas of the Central Region to ensure both residents and visitors enjoy a safe experience.

The General Command of Sharjah Police, through the Central Region Police Department, organized a dialogue session aimed at reviewing safety protocols, upcoming seasonal activities, and coordinating plans with key stakeholders.

This important meeting was led by Brigadier Ibrahim Musbah Al Ajel, the Director General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Centers. Alongside him were Brigadier Khalifa Musbah Al Ketbi, Director of the Central Region Police, and Brigadier Faisal Ibrahim bin Nassar, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Comprehensive Police Centers. The gathering included officials from various local municipalities, Sharjah Civil Defence, RTA, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, the Ministry of Interior Air Wing, public hospitals, and search and rescue teams.

Promoting Safe Tourism in Sharjah

Brigadier Al Ajel commended the continuous support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in enriching the tourism sector within the Central Region. “His Highness’s vision has significantly enhanced tourism in this area. Our primary focus now is to collaborate with partners to uphold the highest safety standards for all our visitors,” Al Ajel stated.

Enhancing Preparedness and Coordination

The discussions primarily revolved around ensuring the safety of desert tourism activities, regulating motorcycle rentals, and making sure visitors can easily access appropriate safety gear and guidance. Brigadier Al Ketbi highlighted that these initiatives represent Sharjah Police’s dedication to a robust security framework that not only prioritizes public safety but also supports sustainable tourism, reinforcing Sharjah’s reputation as one of the UAE’s safest destinations.

A Collaborative Approach to Safety

During the session, participants shared ideas and suggestions to further enhance tourism services, promote safety awareness, and refine emergency response systems during peak visitation periods. The meeting concluded with Brigadier Al Ajel recognizing Sharjah Police’s strategic partners, emphasizing the significance of collaborative efforts in upholding public safety, enhancing service quality, and ensuring a secure environment for all who visit the desert.
