Dubai is buzzing with energy as 7,096 students from 518 public and private schools gear up for the third edition of the School Games, which commenced on January 12. This vibrant event is more than just a competition; it is a celebration of sport and talent among the youth of the UAE.
Organizing Partners
The championship has been organized by the UAE Schools and University Sports Federation (UAESUSF) in collaboration with several esteemed partners, including the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Education, the National Olympic Committee, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the Dubai Sports Council, the Sharjah Sports Council, and various strategic allies. Together, these organizations contribute to a comprehensive national ecosystem aimed at providing young athletes with more opportunities to excel in their respective sports on both regional and international stages.
A Diverse Range of Sports
This year’s School Games feature an impressive array of competitions across 13 individual and team sports. The events are structured into two distinct phases. The first phase consists of popular sports such as football, athletics, archery, badminton, laser run, and table tennis. Notably, it also introduces obstacle course racing for the first time, enhancing the diversity of offerings and tapping into students’ growing interest in various athletic activities.
First Phase Events
The first phase runs from January 12 to February 10 and promises to provide an engaging platform for students to showcase their skills and teamwork. Upcoming Second Phase
Following the initial phase, the second phase is set to take place from April 1 to April 30 and will feature competitions in chess, fencing, judo, jiu-jitsu, taekwondo, and swimming. Throughout the academic year, students will compete in both phases, culminating in a final event scheduled for May 23, 2026.
