Saudi Arabia’s CASHIN partners with Syria to create national digital platform for petroleum derivatives

Published:

Saudi technology firm CASHIN has entered into a strategic partnership with Syria’s Ministry of Energy to develop a national digital platform for petroleum derivatives. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Syria in the realms of energy and digital transformation, as reported by Economy Middle East.

The agreement was formalised in Damascus, overseen by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy and Syrian Minister of Energy Eng. Mohammed Al-Bashir. The Saudi delegation included key figures such as Eng. Fuad Mosa, Advisor to the Minister of Energy, and Eng. Mohammed Al-Hamidi, General Manager of the Oil and Gas Sector.

Integrated Digital Platform

The new platform aims to connect various entities within Syria’s petroleum derivatives value chain through a comprehensive digital system. This system will encompass all aspects of the sector, including production, transportation, storage, distribution, fuel stations, and financial settlements.

Utilising an end-to-end “Field to Bank” approach, the platform will integrate operational activities with financial flows, providing a holistic view of data across the sector. This integration is expected to enhance planning and decision-making processes while improving oversight, governance, and transparency in the movement of petroleum derivatives.

CASHIN’s Role in Development

As part of the agreement, CASHIN will leverage its expertise in digital systems to develop and operate the platform’s technological solutions. The initiative is intended to facilitate Syria’s broader digital transformation within the energy sector by unifying previously separate operational and financial processes.

This partnership not only underscores the growing Saudi-Syrian collaboration in energy and digital transformation but also serves as a potential model for the expansion of Saudi technology and expertise into other regional markets. Furthermore, it highlights the increasing role of artificial intelligence and automation in supporting the digital transformation of critical sectors.
