Sanad Strengthens Global Aerospace Leadership with AED7 Billion Revenue in 2025

Sanad, a prominent player in aerospace engineering and asset management, wholly owned by Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Company PJSC, announced record financial results for 2025. The company reported revenues of AED7 billion (approximately US$1.9 billion), marking a 41% increase from the previous year. This achievement signifies Sanad’s second consecutive year of record performance, reflecting its ongoing commitment to building an integrated global aerospace platform based in Abu Dhabi.

Strategic Growth and Operational Excellence

Sanad’s remarkable growth is attributed to its long-term strategy, which combines aircraft engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) with asset management capabilities. This strategy is supported by next-generation aerospace infrastructure, enabling the company to serve the global aviation market effectively. The operational excellence of Sanad has been recognized within the industry, as evidenced by its accolade as “MRO of the Year” at the Aviation Business Awards during the Dubai Airshow.

Amer Siddiqui, Chairman of the Sanad Group, emphasized that the company’s performance in 2025 highlights the strength of its strategic vision and the resilience of its business model. He noted that Sanad is not merely growing but is focused on building sustainable infrastructure to support the global aviation market, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s critical role in the aviation value chain.

Expanding Global Footprint

In 2025, Sanad recorded 230 engine inductions, a significant increase from 161 in 2024. This growth is indicative of rising global demand for engine maintenance services as airlines seek to extend the life of their existing fleets. To support this expansion, Sanad invested AED100 million to enhance its operational capacity and in-house repair capabilities, ensuring reliability for its growing international customer base.

The company’s commercial momentum continued to build, with the onboarding of 24 new customers, including AirAsia and Royal Jordanian. This expansion across Asia and the Middle East reflects sustained international demand for Sanad’s engine MRO services. Consequently, Sanad’s contracted backlog reached AED38 billion, providing long-term revenue visibility over the next three decades.

Strategic Partnerships and Infrastructure Development

Sanad has also expanded its operational footprint through a strategic partnership with AMMROC, securing additional space to accommodate increasing engine inductions and further scale its MRO operations. By the end of 2025, over 80 airlines, operators, and lessors worldwide were relying on Sanad’s services, solidifying its position as a trusted independent global engine MRO partner.

In a significant development, Sanad made strides in establishing its next-generation GTF engine MRO center in Al Ain. The company signed a long-term Musataha agreement with Abu Dhabi Airports, securing two strategic plots within Al Ain Aerospace Park for the GTF MRO center, which will include twin test cells and facilities for future expansion.

Additionally, the company awarded the full turnkey test cell project to Safran Test Cells, advancing the development of essential testing infrastructure. This facility is set to become the region’s leading civil engine testing capability, with the capacity to support over 500 engine tests annually.

Commitment to Talent Development and Emiratization

Sanad’s growth is complemented by its commitment to developing a skilled workforce. The company achieved a total headcount of 855 employees in 2025, with 306 new hires, representing a 42% increase. Sanad has made significant progress in its Emiratisation agenda, achieving 36% overall Emiratisation, up from 23.1% in 2022. This reflects the company’s dedication to nurturing national talent and supporting the UAE’s long-term human capital development objectives.

In 2025, Sanad onboarded 30 Emirati apprentices and advanced various leadership and technical development programs. This includes the completion of the first Rolls-Royce technical training cohort at Rolls-Royce’s global headquarters in Derby, UK, and the graduation of the second Sanad Future Leaders Program in partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Commitment to Quality and Operational Standards

Sanad’s commitment to excellence is further reinforced by its dual ISO certifications, ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 30414:2018. These certifications underscore the company’s adherence to the highest international standards in quality management and human capital transparency, reflecting its focus on operational excellence and governance.

Sanad’s sustained growth supports Abu Dhabi’s long-term industrial strategy, reinforcing the Emirate’s role as a global aerospace engineering and MRO hub. With increasing global demand for engine maintenance and ongoing infrastructure investments, Sanad is well-positioned for sustainable long-term growth as it enters 2026.

Looking ahead, the company will continue to focus on capability development, workforce upskilling, and Emiratization while strategically deploying capital across its engine MRO and asset management businesses.
