Legalized Arrives in Dubai: A Bright New Hope for Argentina

The Dabster Colt Makes a Bold Move from Argentina to the UAE

The racing world eagerly watches as the undefeated Dabster colt from Argentina embarks on a new chapter in his promising career, now set to be trained in the United Arab Emirates. This rising star, who has not tasted defeat on Argentine soil, will be under the expert guidance of Musabbeh Al Mheiri, the leading trainer of the 2024/2025 season, with jockey William Pereyra working alongside in the same barn.

A Glimpse into the Dabster Colt’s Stellar Record

The colt, owned by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum—whose colors have a storied legacy that includes Asiatic Boy, Vale Dori, and Honour Devil—was formerly prepared by trainers Juan Saldivia and Roberto Pellegatta. Impressively unbeaten in two starts, he made a significant impact on his debut by outclassing Piñazo (by John F Kennedy) by five lengths and later Ardiendo (by Remote) by an even wider margin over Palermo’s dirt track. His prowess extended to San Isidro’s heavy turf, where he clinched victory by six lengths in the Clásico Manuel Anasagasti (L), besting strong contenders like Forging (G2, Forge) and Liberto (G3, Hurricane Cat).

Following in the Footsteps of South American Glory in the UAE

The UAE’s racecourses, including Nad Al Sheba and Meydan, have historically been arenas where South American horses shine. Icons such as Invasor (Candy Stripes) and Gloria de Campeao (Impression) claimed victories in the prestigious Dubai World Cup (G1), highlighting the deep connection between these regions’ racing scenes. With a new batch of South American talent arriving, including jockeys Francisco Leandro and William Pereyra, the UAE continues to be a sought-after destination for equine excellence.

Legalaized and Natan: New Arrivals Eyeing Success

Among the latest Argentine juveniles to land in Dubai is Legalaized, a standout prospect of the 2025 crop. Traveling with Natan (offspring of Señor Candy), these horses are poised to continue their promising paths in Dubai’s competitive racing circuit. Their arrival marks a key development as they integrate into a vibrant racing culture that has long rewarded equine talent from South America.

Auto Bahn and Oasis Boy: Continuing the Dream

Alongside the Dabster colt, the shipment from Argentina also included Auto Bahn, another horse under Musabbeh Al Mheiri’s care. Previously trained locally by Antonio Cintra, Julio Olascoaga, and Doug Watson, Auto Bahn brings valuable experience, having finished second in the 2024 UAE Derby (G2), narrowly behind the Japanese star Forever Young (Real Steel). Despite an injury setback last year, the horse has recovered and is primed to impress anew.

Meanwhile, Oasis Boy remains with trainer Doug Watson, also owned by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Khalifa Al Maktoum. The continuity in training and ownership provides stability and confidence as these horses prepare to face the thrilling challenges ahead on the UAE tracks.

The upcoming weeks promise to be exciting as these horses and their teams settle in and gear up for the next phase of their racing careers. The blend of Argentine talent with the UAE’s dynamic racing environment sets the stage for compelling performances and renewed hopes for international greatness.
