Kean University Athletics Department Explores Opportunities in Dubai
Members of the Kean University Athletics Department recently embarked on an enriching trip to Dubai, a prominent city in the United Arab Emirates known for its advancements in innovation, sustainability, and artificial intelligence. This delegation included significant figures such as Vice President Kelly Williams, Deputy Director of Athletics Therese Doyle Tullis, Managing Assistant Director of Recreation and External Affairs B.J. Johnson, and Head Flag Football Coach Mandrele Hansford.
Collaborative Meetings at American University of Dubai
During their visit, the Kean Athletics team engaged in meaningful discussions with key academic and athletics personnel at the American University of Dubai (AUD). They met with Dr. Sara Montero, the Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Elie Sawaya, Director of Central Services, and Mr. Joseph Nohra, Director of Athletics. The central focus of these meetings was to explore potential collaborative efforts between Kean University and AUD’s athletics program.
The conversation included a range of vital topics, such as best practices for mental health, leadership development programs, resource sharing, and innovative recruiting strategies. Engaging Young Athletes at GEMS Modern Academy
In addition to their meetings, the delegation also took time to connect with students at GEMS Modern Academy. There, they organized a flag football clinic that was led by Coach Hansford. The clinic featured a well-rounded program that included energetic warm-up activities, offensive and defensive skill stations, and an engaging discussion on the lifelong benefits of participating in sports.
