Jumeirah International Nurseries Launches Free Daily Learning for All UAE Children Aged 3–5

Dubai, United Arab Emirates — In response to the ongoing challenges faced by families across the UAE, Jumeirah International Nurseries has initiated a program offering free online learning sessions for children aged 3 to 5. This initiative aims to support families during a time when many are grappling with the closure of nurseries and the disruption of daily routines.

The free sessions, which are available to all children in this age group regardless of their enrollment status at Jumeirah Nurseries, run daily from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. No registration or payment is required, making it accessible to all families in the community. This effort reflects the nursery group’s commitment to providing educational support during a critical time.

Katrina Mankani, Managing Director of Jumeirah International Nurseries, emphasized the importance of familiar interactions for children. She stated that families need a consistent presence that reassures children and encourages learning. The initiative aims to provide that comfort through structured online sessions.

The Educators Behind the Initiative

The success of this program is attributed not only to the technology used but also to the dedicated team of educators at Jumeirah. Since the closure of nurseries, these educators have worked tirelessly to create a comprehensive daily program that replicates the nurturing environment of a traditional nursery. The curriculum includes circle time, phonics, creative play, and story time, all designed to foster a sense of stability for children during uncertain times.

In addition to online learning, Jumeirah has introduced a Child-Led Home Learning program. This initiative allows educators to visit families’ homes in Dubai, providing personalized learning experiences in a familiar setting. This approach has been well-received, with parents describing it as “the nursery coming to us.”

Mankani highlighted the commitment of the educators, noting that they prioritized the needs of families over concerns about overtime pay. This dedication underscores the values of the organization and its staff.

Importance of Routine for Young Children

Disruption can be particularly challenging for young children, who rely on routine as a source of emotional security. The unpredictability of their environment can lead to feelings of anxiety and withdrawal. Jumeirah’s program is designed with this understanding, ensuring that the online sessions mirror the structure of a typical nursery day.

The format of the webinars allows children to see and hear their educators while maintaining privacy and safety. Two age-specific streams are available: FS1 for ages 3 to 4 and FS2 for ages 4 to 5, each with tailored content.

Three Levels of Support in Under a Week

In addition to the free webinars, Jumeirah has developed two additional tiers of support for families seeking more personalized assistance:

  1. Interactive Online Learning: These live classes allow children to engage with their classmates and educators in real-time, providing an experience that closely resembles being in the nursery.
  2. Home Learning: Approved educators can visit homes to deliver structured learning, either in small groups or one-on-one, ensuring that children receive the attention they need.

The rapid development and launch of this three-tier program were accomplished in less than a week, showcasing the organization’s agility and commitment to community support.

A Legacy of Adaptability

Founded in 1981 by Shakuntala Mankani, Jumeirah International Nurseries has established itself as the UAE’s longest-running nursery group. Mankani’s vision was to create a safe and nurturing environment for children in a growing city. Over the past 45 years, the institution has educated more than 15,000 children across ten branches.

Mankani’s founding purpose remains unchanged: to provide every child in the city with the best possible start. This adaptability has allowed Jumeirah to respond swiftly to the current crisis, leveraging its long-standing commitment to quality education and community service.

Standards for Educators

All educators involved in the program meet stringent standards, including KHDA approval based on qualifications and experience, completion of Jumeirah’s proprietary training methodology, and full police clearance. Additionally, they hold a Dubai Health Authority Occupational Health Card, ensuring their medical fitness.
