Dubai is poised to redefine luxury hospitality with the upcoming opening of Ciel Dubai Marina, the world’s tallest hotel. Standing majestically at 377 meters, this towering new landmark is set to surpass the current record-holder, the Gevora Hotel, which reaches 356 meters along Dubai’s iconic Sheikh Zayed Road. Though the hotel has not officially opened its doors, it has already attracted a high-profile visitor: Hollywood star Jason Momoa.
Momoa, known for his role as Aquaman, made an early stop at Ciel Dubai Marina on Saturday to launch Meili, his own drink brand. The actor, dressed casually, was seen engaging warmly with the hotel staff, proudly displaying the brand’s logo in a celebratory photo. This visit marks a new collaboration between Momoa and The First Group Hospitality, the management company behind Ciel Dubai Marina.
The star’s ties to the UAE run deep beyond this launch. Momoa is currently involved with the sci-fi mega-film “Dune: Part Three,” which is set to resume filming later this month in Abu Dhabi’s Liwa Desert. The preceding movies—“Dune” and “Dune: Part Two”—were shot in the expansive Liwa desert, which stood in for the fictional planet Arrakis. Alongside Momoa, fellow stars like Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin are returning, with Robert Pattinson joining the franchise as a newcomer. The buzz surrounding the production has been heightened by a UAE casting agency’s advertisement seeking extras for this Hollywood blockbuster, with filming anticipated between October and November.
Jason Momoa’s bond with the region is further solidified by his 2023 appointment as chief island officer for Yas Island in Abu Dhabi. He has featured in multiple promotional campaigns for this premier entertainment destination, strengthening his role as an ambassador for the UAE’s cultural and tourism initiatives.
Ciel Dubai Marina is not just about its height. Managed by Vignette Collection, a brand under IHG Hotels & Resorts known for unique properties, the hotel boasts 1,004 rooms across an impressive 82 floors. Guests will have the opportunity to book stays starting November 15, with deluxe room rates beginning at Dh2,328 per night.
Alongside its architectural grandeur, Ciel Dubai Marina promises record-breaking facilities. It aims to secure world records for the highest infinity pool and the highest club in the world once these are certified by the Guinness World Records. The pool and club will be part of Tattu Dubai, the international debut of the renowned Manchester-born fine-dining Asian restaurant chain. Owned by the Permanently Unique Group, Tattu Dubai will span three spectacular levels within the hotel: the main restaurant and bar on level 74, the Tattu Sky Pool on level 76, and the Tattu Sky Lounge and Terrace at level 81.
The Tattu Sky Pool will soar to an extraordinary height of 310 meters, surpassing the current record set by the Address Beach Resort’s infinity pool, which stands at 294 meters on the hotel’s 77th floor and was certified in 2021. This exciting feature is expected to become a new iconic attraction for both hotel guests and visitors seeking breathtaking panoramic views.
As Dubai prepares to welcome visitors to this architectural marvel, the blend of luxury, world-class dining, and record-breaking experiences promises to elevate the city’s status as a global tourism and hospitality hub. Ciel Dubai Marina is not just poised to set new records but also to offer an unprecedented blend of comfort, style, and star-studded glamour that captivates the imagination well before its official opening.
