Introduction to the Forum

The Dubai Future Forum 2025 commenced at the renowned Museum of the Future, marking a significant gathering of over 2,500 participants from around 100 nations. This event, which runs until November 19, brings together renowned speakers, including futurists, ministers, and industry leaders, to explore pressing global challenges and envision solutions for a better tomorrow.

A Vision for the Future

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Future Foundation, underscored the critical need for nations to prioritize future design. He highlighted that the integration of diverse global expertise is vital for societal progress, stating, “Designing the future has become one of the most strategic priorities shaping national and international agendas.”

Collaborative Efforts for Progress

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized Dubai’s commitment to fostering global partnerships that resonate with values of optimism and proactivity. By collaborating with international stakeholders, Dubai aspires to co-create solutions that meet the aspirations of various societies. The Forum serves as an annual platform designed not only to bring futurists together but to identify vital priorities and advancements that can drive meaningful change.

Recognition of Futurists: The Dubai Foresight Awards

During the Forum, Sheikh Hamdan took part in the inaugural Dubai Foresight Awards, which recognize exceptional contributions in the fields of foresight and design. The awards are categorized into segments that reward innovative applications impacting societies and the environment.

Celebrating Change Makers

In the Foresight Change Makers category, Fiji’s “Pasifika Futures Report” clinched first place, showcasing how indigenous wisdom can influence future planning. Noteworthy mentions included the UNICEF Innocenti Youth Foresight Fellowship Program from Pakistan and France’s Sustainable Futures initiative.

Innovations for People and Planet

The Foresight for People award went to Italy’s “City Longevity” initiative, which leverages artificial intelligence to promote healthier urban living. Greece’s “Futures that Heal” and Australia’s “For Our Future” initiatives also earned recognition for their visionary approaches.

For the Foresight for the Planet category, first place was awarded to “Congo Basin Futures” from Cameroon, focusing on biodiversity preservation. The US-based Cool Climate Collective’s project and Egypt’s Seeding the Future initiative also received accolades for their forward-thinking strategies related to climate change and agriculture.

Empowering Future Innovators

The Forum also celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of the ‘FEEL: A Disruptive Futures Program.’ This pioneering initiative, launched by the Dubai Future Academy, equips a diverse range of professionals—executives, policymakers, and innovators—with the tools necessary to navigate future changes. With 30 graduates from 15 countries completing a rigorous four-week program, the focus remains on fostering a robust understanding of future trends to address rapid advancements in various sectors.

Investing in Local Talent

Sheikh Hamdan also met with participants of the Dubai Future Experts Program (DEEP), the world’s first government-led initiative aimed at building foresight capabilities among Emirati leaders. The program is concentrated on empowering government officials to excel in their fields, ensuring that Dubai continues to lead in global competitiveness.

Engaging Discussions and Workshops

The first day of the Forum was filled with engaging sessions categorized into themes such as Foresight Insights, Exploring the Unknown, and Empowering Societies. Key discussions revolved around the impact of artificial intelligence on future economies, the role of education in building resilience, and the collaboration between scientific communities.

In addition to keynote speeches, the Forum offered workshops that invited participants to delve into specific challenges, such as assessing the futures pulse of citizens and exploring how foresight can transform migration policies.

Immersive Experiences

Alongside the informative sessions, attendees participated in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences designed to stimulate creative thinking and collaborative problem-solving.

Look Ahead: Day Two

The event’s second day promises to continue this momentum, focusing on topics like urban development, advancements in space exploration, and the role of youth in fostering innovation. Each session aims to enhance global readiness as we collectively face the future.
