This UAE-based talent management and influencer marketing firm had already seen an investment from Gushcloud 15 months prior. Following the acquisition, TalentPlus has been rebranded as Gushcloud TalentPlus, with its founder, Michel Chahda, taking on the role of Chief Executive Officer and group partner.

This acquisition marks a crucial point for Gushcloud, allowing the company to enhance its operational control across the Middle East. The rebranding signifies more than just a name change; it highlights Gushcloud’s commitment to improving its services in reserved media, creator intellectual property development, and cross-border monetization. Althea Lim, Co-Founder and Group CEO of Gushcloud International, emphasized the strategic nature of this acquisition. She noted that the UAE has made considerable strides in attracting creators, positioning itself as a pivotal market for digital influencers. Lim stated, “This majority acquisition is a strategic step forward for us at Gushcloud to have more control in this large growing market that adds significant value to the creator ecosystem we are building.”

The decision to expand into this thriving region is backed by compelling statistics. According to Strategy&, digital content spending in the Middle East is projected to reach around 46% of an estimated $22 billion in media spending by 2024. Furthermore, GlobalWebIndex has indicated that users in this region maintain an average of 8.4 social media accounts, spending approximately three and a half hours daily engaging on these platforms. Such figures underline the growing importance of social media and content creation in the Middle East.

Currently, Gushcloud operates in 13 different markets, including the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and France.
