Al Ain Farms Group and Food Tech Valley Join Forces
Al Ain Farms Group (AAFG) has announced a significant partnership with Food Tech Valley, an initiative backed by the Dubai government aimed at fostering food innovation. Together, they are set to develop a state-of-the-art logistics hub spanning 260,000 square feet, which is poised to revolutionize food distribution throughout the UAE.
This initiative was unveiled at the Future Food Forum 2025, an event held under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism. The collaboration aims to bolster food security, enhance the resilience of supply chains, and align with the UAE’s ambitious Net Zero 2050 strategy.
Enhancing Efficiency and Sustainability
The new logistics facility is strategically positioned to minimize delivery distances, thereby accelerating the distribution of fresh produce across the region. This hub is expected to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 2,500 tonnes each year and decrease fleet emissions by up to 35%. Such measures are crucial for lessening the environmental impact of food logistics.
AAFG anticipates that this project will lead to a 33% boost in delivery efficiency, while also aiming to cut down on food waste and streamline operations throughout its supply chain. This focus on sustainability and efficiency is essential for meeting the growing demands of consumers and the environment alike.
A Strong Partnership for Local Growth
Hassan Safi, the Group CEO of Al Ain Farms Group, emphasized the importance of collaboration in the UAE. He stated, “This hub is a testament to the power of strong partnerships in the UAE, driving greater in-country value.”
By collaborating with Food Tech Valley, a local entity, AAFG aims to deliver fresher food to consumers more rapidly than ever before, while simultaneously bolstering the local economy and nurturing homegrown talent. Safi noted that this partnership is designed to enhance delivery efficiency by 33%, reduce waste, and streamline logistics operations.
“By leveraging the country’s expertise and resources, we are building a sustainable, resilient food system that benefits both our community and our partners,” he added. This collaboration is not just about immediate gains; it lays the groundwork for future innovations and aligns with the UAE’s vision for a smarter, greener, and more self-sufficient future.
Building Resilience in Food Supply Chains
The construction of the logistics hub is slated to commence in late 2025, with an anticipated completion date in the first quarter of 2027. Once operational, the facility is expected to generate over 100 jobs in logistics and operations, integrating advanced technologies to enhance supply chain performance.
Ahmed AlShaibani, Director of Food Tech Valley, remarked, “Food Tech Valley was created to drive innovation and sustainability in the UAE’s food ecosystem.” He highlighted that the partnership with AAFG is a significant step toward building advanced infrastructure that makes supply chains more efficient and resilient. This collaboration also opens avenues for new technologies and future partnerships aimed at enhancing national food security.
Supporting the UAE’s Long-Term Vision
The logistics hub marks a pivotal milestone in the UAE’s ongoing mission to develop a more sustainable food ecosystem. By merging innovation with operational efficiency, this project underscores the critical role of logistics in delivering not only fresh produce but also environmentally responsible supply chain solutions that align with national priorities.
