Etihad Resumes Limited Flights Starting March 6
Etihad Airways has officially announced the resumption of a limited schedule of commercial flights, commencing on March 6, 2026. The Abu Dhabi-based airline plans to operate flights to various key international destinations, catering primarily to travelers with prior bookings.
The airline has indicated that customers with existing reservations will be accommodated as efficiently as possible. Tickets for the new flight schedule will also be available for purchase via Etihad’s official website. The airline has emphasized that neither the public nor passengers should travel to the airport unless they have received direct communication from the airline or possess a confirmed booking.
Coordination with Authorities
This decision comes after extensive assessments of safety and security measures in collaboration with relevant authorities. Etihad Airways stated that the airline continues to monitor the situation closely and will only operate flights when all necessary safety criteria are met.
Currently, all other scheduled commercial services to and from Abu Dhabi remain suspended. The airline has outlined alternative options for passengers impacted by the cancellations. Guests holding tickets issued on or before February 28, 2026, for travel dates up to March 21, 2026, may rebook their flights free of charge for travel until May 15, 2026.
Refund Process
For passengers booked on any Etihad flight until March 10, 2026, the airline has made provisions for refund requests through its official website or via travel agents. Due to an increase in customer service inquiries, Etihad encourages guests to utilize online refund request forms to expedite processing and reduce wait times.
Affected travelers will receive direct communication regarding their flight status. The airline has urged all passengers to ensure their contact information is current to facilitate updates. Etihad reiterated its commitment to safety, noting that all services will continue to be subjected to ongoing safety evaluations.
