ADEK’s Commitment to Education Excellence in Abu Dhabi
In an ongoing effort to enhance the quality of education in Abu Dhabi, the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), under the leadership of new Chairman H.E. Mohamed Al Qadi, recently visited two notable educational institutions: the Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Boys and Al Ghad Charter School. These visits aim to celebrate academic achievements and highlight the importance of fostering a strong national identity along with the development of future-ready skills in students.
Celebrating Success at Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Boys
The Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Boys has achieved notable recognition, receiving an Outstanding rating in both the Irtiqaa Inspection Framework and the National Identity Mark. This remarkable achievement positions the academy among the top performers within the emirate’s educational landscape. ADEK’s performance evaluations serve to ensure transparency for parents and to clarify available educational options. This ensures that students receive a robust learning experience, equipping them for global competitiveness.
Last year, the academy also earned the distinction of being a runner-up in the ADEK Awards for Best Arabic Program. This accolade further demonstrates its commitment to enhancing Arabic language proficiency and nurturing cultural identity among its students.
Groundbreaking Achievements at Al Ghad School
Moving on to Al Ghad School, this institution holds the distinction of being the first charter school in Abu Dhabi to graduate a complete cohort. The school continues to drive positive academic results, particularly in Mathematics and Science, reinforcing the effectiveness of the charter school model. Its pioneering Class of 2025 has successfully secured placements at prestigious universities both in the UAE and internationally. Distinguished institutions such as the University of Melbourne, the University of New South Wales, and the University of Sydney have welcomed its graduates.
Alumni from the school’s inaugural class participated in the recent visit, sharing insights on how Al Ghad School prepared them for higher education. Their reflections highlighted the school’s role in providing academic guidance, developing essential skills, and offering early exposure to various post-secondary pathways. These graduates also spoke about their current academic pursuits and future aspirations.
A Holistic Approach to Student Growth
Al Ghad School promotes a well-rounded student experience, encouraging engagement in a variety of activities that span arts, poetry, and sports. During the ADEK visit, students showcased their talents, emphasizing the school’s focus on recognizing and nurturing individual strengths.
Furthermore, the visit included discussions with parents, allowing them to share their perspectives on their children’s educational journeys and transitions toward graduation. This collaborative dialogue underscores the significance of the partnership between schools and families in fostering student growth and development.
Engaging Conversations on Future-Ready Skills
The visit concluded with a focus group workshop that involved ADEK representatives and standout students from Al Ghad, joined by peers from various Aldar Education schools. This gathering provided a platform for students to voice their learning experiences and discuss pressing topics such as adapting to AI technologies, cultural identity, Arabic language proficiency, and personal passions outside academics. This interaction reflects ADEK’s commitment to aligning the development of future-ready skills with cultural belonging and individual interests.
These school visits symbolize ADEK’s proactive approach to engaging with educational institutions, educators, and students. They highlight the essential collaborative efforts necessary to drive academic excellence across Abu Dhabi’s educational framework.
