GITEX TechCation 2026 is set to become the largest technology and artificial intelligence event in the world, following the vision outlined by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. This event will be under the guidance of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai’s Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister, positioning Dubai at the forefront of global innovation.
Scheduled for December 7–11, 2026, in Expo City Dubai, GITEX TechCation aims to establish the city as the ultimate year-end destination for innovation, investment, and lifestyle. This unique gathering will bring together leading tech companies, emerging startups, investors, and creative minds in an immersive experience celebrating innovation and creativity.
Expanding Dubai’s Tech Network
The launch of GITEX TechCation marks a significant expansion of Dubai’s presence within the global technology network. This event will serve as the anchor for what promises to be the world’s largest tech and startup ecosystem, conveniently integrated into the city’s vibrant tourism, culture, and lifestyle landscape.
As a vital first step, the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) has entered a strategic partnership with the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) to not only develop but also promote this grand event. The agreement was formalized by Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, and Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of DWTC.
Leveraging Dubai’s Strengths
Through this collaboration, GITEX TechCation will utilize DET’s extensive networks in hospitality, culture, and tourism. The aim is to create dynamic programs and immersive experiences that will connect tech, culture, and tourism in a way that elevates Dubai’s status in the global arena. This initiative aligns with DET’s commitment to making Dubai a premier location for visiting, living, working, and investing, fostering longer stays and attracting more international executives and investors.

Issam Kazim emphasized that GITEX has always been more than merely a technology exhibition. Under the current leadership’s vision, the event is poised to gain even greater significance on the global stage. He remarked, “This new era will seamlessly blend innovation with Dubai’s unparalleled lifestyle, reinforcing our city’s status as a destination for both business and leisure in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33.” Kazim believes this partnership will enhance the visitor experience, enabling the tech community to come together and forge new collaborations.
Trixie LohMirmand echoed similar sentiments, describing GITEX TechCation as a revolutionary evolution in global tech events. She noted, “This event will redefine how the tech community connects, celebrates, and innovates in one of the world’s most future-ready cities.” Breaking away from traditional formats, GITEX TechCation aims to reflect the full vibrancy of Dubai’s culture and lifestyle through a comprehensive citywide activation.

Dubai’s standing as a prime travel destination only enhances the vision behind GITEX TechCation. The city has been recognized as the number one global destination in Tripadvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Awards for three consecutive years (2022–2024).
