In an age where technology is rapidly transforming various sectors, one entrepreneurial venture is taking aim at a critical field: mental healthcare. Founded by the visionary Nargiz Noimann, X-Technology is currently piloting its innovative VR-based therapy tools in the UAE, with ambitious plans to expand across the MENA region and into Europe.
VR Revolutionizing Mental Healthcare
X-Technology’s platform is thoughtfully designed in collaboration with medical experts to address a variety of pressing mental health conditions, including Alzheimer’s disease, stress associated with cancer, and trauma recovery. This timely intervention taps into a burgeoning mental health market projected to surpass $38 billion by 2025. The startup recognizes a growing demand from insurers and employers for scalable, AI-enhanced tools aimed at both preventive and rehabilitative care.
“We are not just launching a business – we are delivering a system solution to a field that urgently needs an update,” Noimann shared in an exclusive interview with Arabian Business.
She expresses a strong belief in the “need and opportunity” for such high-tech solutions, especially as healthcare systems globally seek out scalable, human-centered innovations. X-Technology’s approach leverages the immersive capabilities of virtual reality to support emotional recovery and cognitive resilience for patients facing severe health challenges.
Experts suggest that if X-Technology can validate its offerings through scientific research and demonstrate tech-based scalability, it could succeed immensely in a landscape where the need for effective mental health solutions is increasingly urgent. Statistics indicate that the mental health market could see revenues soaring to over $38 billion, with per-person revenue averaged at about $65.
According to Alzheimer’s Disease International, the number of individuals with dementia worldwide is expected to reach 78 million by 2030 and 139 million by 2050, with a notable surge occurring in developing regions.

Platform Designed in Collaboration with Psychologists and Medical Specialists
X-Technology’s AI-driven VR platforms are specifically crafted to support patients grappling with cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, and other mental health conditions that require significant emotional and cognitive care, which are often underfunded. These comprehensive platforms are developed in partnership with psychologists and other medical professionals, ensuring their effectiveness and reliability.
The programs incorporate guided memory exercises and cognitive stimulation activities for Alzheimer’s patients, stress and anxiety management tools for those undergoing cancer treatment, and immersive environments designed to facilitate trauma recovery.
Noimann highlights the contention in current healthcare systems, which often rely on traditional one-on-one therapy models that can be prohibitively expensive, inconsistent, and difficult to scale—especially concerning aging populations and post-trauma recovery.
“We are facing a mismatch between need and delivery. Healthcare systems are strained, and emotional health is too important to be sidelined,” she said.
The introduction of immersive VR can provide structured support and empower patients, even when human resources are constrained.
Accessibility, Emotional Immersion, Scalability
Noimann emphasizes that X-Technology’s operational model is founded on three core principles: accessibility, emotional immersion, and scalability. The startup aims to deploy its VR programs extensively in various healthcare settings—hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and even home care—ensuring wider accessibility for those in need.
The platforms are engineered to foster deep engagement, accelerate cognitive stimulation, and enhance emotional regulation through immersive VR environments. With AI integration, the programs can be tailored to individual user needs, extending therapy beyond traditional contexts and facilitating rapid scalability.
Beyond healthcare applications, X-Technology foresees substantial opportunities for innovation within the insurance sector, where digital therapies are increasingly being integrated into various policies.

Notably, insurance programs incorporating digital therapy are growing at an impressive rate of 20–25 percent per annum, positioning X-Technology to align with new preventive health models.
“Our technologies are not just clinical—they are becoming integral to how organizations conceive employee health, insurance structures, and preventive care strategies,” she expressed.
With plans to branch out from the UAE into major markets like Saudi Arabia and European nations such as Germany and Switzerland, X-Technology aims to build a diverse portfolio that includes 25-30 percent focused on palliative care and oncology rehabilitation.
The company also seeks to forge five to seven partnerships with insurance firms and medical networks. “We are scaling thoughtfully,” Noimann explained, emphasizing the importance of forming meaningful, sustainable collaborations that align with long-term improvements in cognitive and emotional healthcare delivery.
Noimann articulates a vision where emergent technologies like VR, once perceived as works of science fiction, are transitioned into indispensable tools for advancing human-centered healthcare innovation. As the global populace ages and mental health challenges escalate, the need for adaptable, evidence-based solutions is becoming ever more urgent.
“We are just at the beginning… the question for the next decade is no longer if digital tools will be integrated into healthcare, but how thoughtfully and humanely they will be designed,” Noimann posited.
“Our work centers around ensuring emotional wellbeing and cognitive health remain pivotal in that future.” With X-Technology making strides to establish itself as a leader in this evolving ecosystem of mental healthcare, it also contributes to the UAE’s aspirations to become a global hub for talent, innovation, and investment.
