Dubai South Partners with EHRDC to Propel Emirati Talent into Key Industries

Dubai South, recognized as the largest single-urban master development in the region, has made significant strides in fostering local talent by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Emirati Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC). This strategic partnership aims to empower Emirati professionals and enhance their integration into the job market, particularly in pivotal sectors such as aviation, logistics, and urban development, which are essential to Dubai’s growing economy.

Signing Ceremony at Dubai Airshow

The MoU was officially endorsed in a ceremony attended by prominent figures, including H.E. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of the EHRDC, and H.E. Khalifa Al Zaffin, Executive Chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation and Dubai South. The signing took place at Dubai South’s exhibition stand during the Dubai Airshow, attracting senior officials and experts from both organizations. This event illustrates the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors and aligns with Dubai’s vision of preparing Emirati talent for leadership roles across key industries.

Driving Future Growth through Skills Development

Hafsa Algargawi, Chief People Management Officer at Dubai South, emphasized the mission to equip young Emiratis with crucial skills tailored for the future, focusing on areas such as aviation, supply chain management, safety, quality, and digital transformation. “As we celebrate one of the most remarkable editions of the Dubai Airshow, our objective is to advance Emiratisation in the aviation sector, empowering local talent to significantly impact its future growth and competitiveness,” she remarked. Algargawi also highlighted the broader goal of nurturing talent across Dubai’s economic landscape in alignment with the UAE’s strategic objectives.

Establishing a Robust Talent Pipeline

Abdulaziz Alfalahi, General Supervisor of Employment Operations at EHRDC, noted that this collaboration is a crucial step towards developing a strong pipeline of qualified Emirati professionals ready to lead in the aviation and logistics sectors, recognized as key drivers of Dubai’s sustainable development. “Through this partnership, we aim to create an integrated ecosystem that positions Emirati youth to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in competitive markets,” he stated.

Focus on Specialized Training Programs

The MoU outlines a framework for both entities to work together in creating specialized training and qualification programs tailored for Emirati youth. These programs will provide hands-on experience and the technical knowledge essential for success in global markets. Additionally, the partnership envisions establishing career pathways that adapt to the rapid advancements in aviation and logistics. Joint initiatives based on international best practices will facilitate knowledge sharing, ensuring Emirati professionals are well-equipped to meet industry demands.

A Commitment to Career Development

This agreement underscores the commitment of both Dubai South and the EHRDC to forge strong, collaborative relationships with leading institutions, aimed at creating opportunities for Emirati youth and nurturing their professional journeys in strategic domains. The signing of the MoU reinforces Dubai South’s role as a facilitator of innovation and talent development, enhancing the emirate’s positioning as a global hub for investment and progress while adhering to the UAE’s long-term economic and social development goals.

Through initiatives like these, Dubai South and the EHRDC are set to play a transformative role in how Emirati talent is prepared for the future, ensuring that they can take on leadership roles in the regions most vital industries.
