Dubai Launches Innovative Drone Delivery Service
A New Era in Urban Delivery
In a groundbreaking initiative, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), in collaboration with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, has introduced a drone delivery route in the vibrant Nad Al Sheba area. This innovative service allows drones to transport food orders from local restaurants and cafés at Nad Al Sheba Avenue Mall directly to residents, with the deliveries landing at Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque.
This project signifies a crucial step forward in Dubai’s ambition to establish itself as a global leader in smart transportation and advanced aerial logistics. The official inauguration of the delivery route was marked by a ceremonial first flight overseen by His Excellency Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of the DCAA, and attended by various government officials and stakeholders from Dubai.
High-Level Participation
The launch event saw the presence of prominent figures, including His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department; His Excellency Badr Bu Hanad, Director General of Dubai Silicon Oasis; and His Excellency Sultan Butti bin Mejren, alongside Mr. Sayed Ismail Mohammed Al Hashmi, Acting Executive Director of the Corporate Support Services Sector in Dubai Municipality. Their involvement underscores the collaborative effort between multiple sectors to promote innovation in the region.

“It embodies the city’s pioneering approach to leveraging technology in serving people and improving their quality of life,” Al Muhairi noted, reinforcing the mosque’s role as a vital community space.
Expanding Drone Network
Currently, Keeta Drone operates four established routes in Dubai Silicon Oasis. The introduction of the Nad Al Sheba route marks an essential extension of Keeta Drone’s network within the UAE, aimed at seamlessly connecting residential and commercial areas. This initiative is designed to offer fast, contactless, and environmentally friendly deliveries, all while adhering to the stringent regulatory framework set by the DCAA.
