This partnership marks an important step in what promises to be a memorable gathering of young athletes dedicated to showcasing their abilities.

At the signing ceremony, Majid Al Usaimi, the APC President, and Thani Juma Berregad, Chairman of the Dubai Club for People of Determination, represented their organizations with great pride. The event took place at the APC headquarters in Dubai, symbolizing not just an agreement, but a shared commitment to elevating the spirit of the Paralympic movement. Their signatures on the contract were a clear endorsement of Dubai’s role as a nurturing host for these vital games, adding to its legacy as a hub for international sports.

Under the esteemed patronage of Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, the 5th Asian Youth Para Games are set to unfold from December 7 to 14 in the vibrant city of Dubai, UAE. Young athletes from across Asia will compete in 11 different sports, providing them with a platform to excel and shine. This is not the first time Dubai has taken the honored role of host; the city previously welcomed the Asian Youth Para Games in 2017, showcasing its dedication to promoting inclusivity in sports.

During the signing, Al Usaimi took a moment to express gratitude to Sheikh Mansoor for his unwavering support and commitment to the Asian Youth Para Games. Originally slated to be held in Tashkent, the games were shifted to Dubai due to unforeseen circumstances. This change not only reflects the UAE’s dedication to inclusivity but also its readiness to step in as a reliable host for such significant events that promote the empowerment of People of Determination.

The APC President reiterated the UAE and Dubai’s commitment to supporting People of Determination across all sectors, emphasizing that this vital support is what the Asian Paralympic Movement stands for. Al Usaimi articulated the sentiment that the continuation of these games in Asia is one of the organization’s major objectives, underscoring the need to invest in young athletes who represent not just Asia, but the global Paralympic community.

“Our young athletes are among the most important investments on the Asian continent and globally,” Al Usaimi noted passionately. His vision involves creating a sustainable pathway for these athletes to thrive, ensuring they receive the best possible support and quality services. The Asian Paralympic Committee has adopted the mission to develop players from youth into professionals, establishing a roadmap designed to enhance their skills through various competitions and dedicated training for their coaches and support staff.

Berregad echoed these sentiments, expressing his enthusiasm for the Dubai Club for People of Determination’s opportunity to host such a significant event. He acknowledged the challenges posed by the short timeline but remained optimistic about the potential to deliver an exceptional championship. Over the years, the UAE and Dubai have built a commendable reputation for hosting a variety of impactful regional and international sporting events, constantly elevating their stature on the world stage.

“We are committed to delivering an exceptional edition,” Berregad affirmed, emphasizing the club’s steadfast dedication to ensuring that the upcoming games exceed expectations. Their approach prioritizes meticulous planning and execution, aimed at providing an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators alike. With a robust commitment to quality, the Dubai Club for People of Determination is poised to make this tournament a hallmark of excellence in the annals of sports history.
