Meet Adam Zargar: A Catalyst for Change
Adam Zargar, a native of the UK, stands out as the Executive Director of Coaching and Lead Executive Coach, embodying a blend of calm energy and focused determination. His presence inspires immediate confidence, a felt quality that translates into his work with others. With over 17 years dedicated to professional coaching, Adam has become a guiding force for a diverse range of clients, from reserved teenagers to high-ranking executives seeking to discover their true potential. “Each challenge I embraced built my confidence,” he reflects. “Now my goal is to facilitate that transformation for others.”
Academic Foundations: Psychology and Education
Adam’s professional journey began in earnest in 2001, after he graduated with a degree in Psychology from a British university, later adding a degree in Education. His fascination with human behavior wasn’t merely academic; it stemmed from his personal experiences. “At 18, I was quite shy and uncertain about my direction,” he recalls. “Psychology offered me insights into myself and those around me.”
Transitioning into teaching, Adam began his career in the UK before relocating to Dubai in 2007. His years spent in education were pivotal, both for his own development and that of his students. “Watching my students gain confidence was like living my own journey,” he shares. “It dawned on me that my purpose was to help others realize their best selves.”
Taking the Leap into Coaching
Long before coaching gained mainstream attention, Adam made a significant decision. In 2008, spurred by a mentor’s encouragement, he earned his NLP Life Coach certification and embarked on a coaching career, despite having no clients or guarantees. “People thought I was insane,” he chuckles. “Leaving a stable job at 29 to become a full-time coach was quite radical. I believed that true growth requires taking bold steps.”
His gamble began to pay off. By offering free sessions and cultivating referrals through authentic results, Adam’s coaching career began to flourish. Soon, he garnered attention from television programs like Studio One and various publications. “The pivotal moment was when clients started telling me, ‘You’ve changed my life.’ That’s when I knew I was following the right path.”
A Philosophy Built on Connection
Nowadays, Adam is at the helm of UAE Coaching, a thriving company rooted in a straightforward yet profound philosophy: the right coaching relationship fosters transformation. “I don’t view fellow coaches as competition,” he explains. “Coaching is about energy. From the first session, it’s essential to feel that connection, that trust.”
Adam’s relational approach extends beyond the professional realm; many clients remain friends even after their coaching journey concludes. “I truly care about people,” he states. “When someone reaches out years later to express their gratitude for the impact I had on their life, it’s incredibly fulfilling.”
As a certified Gallup Strengths coach, Adam aids clients in identifying and enhancing their inherent talents. “Understanding one’s strengths—their thoughts, feelings, and actions—can lead to increased confidence and productivity,” he elaborates. He encourages clients to transition from the “basement” of their unutilized strengths to the “balcony,” where they can truly shine. “It’s about embracing who you naturally are,” he adds. “Unlocking potential is much more effective than simply addressing problems.”
Balancing Action with Vision
One of Adam’s fundamental beliefs centers around combining vision with deliberate, consistent action. He speaks from personal experience; as a father and business owner, he understands balance’s significance. “There was a time when I prioritized family verbally but didn’t act accordingly,” he admits. “I was overwhelmed, distracted, and not present.”
The solution he discovered was surprisingly simple: structure. By implementing personal rituals like gym sessions and gratitude walks, and protecting family time before work obligations, Adam effectively realigned his actions with his core values. “A vision’s strength lies in the daily habits that support it,” he asserts.
Whether it’s dedicating time to football, fitness, or journaling, Adam views self-care as an essential part of his role, not a luxury. “To support others effectively, you must first take care of yourself. My energy-centered rituals enhance my capabilities as a coach, husband, and father.”
Empowering the Next Generation
Beyond his executive coaching endeavors, Adam is dedicated to empowering youth. He co-founded SnackTroops, which introduces entrepreneurship to schools, teaching students vital skills such as pitching, marketing, and real-world business applications. “Our aim is to prepare kids for an evolving world,” he explains. “Since all profits go to charity, they learn the importance of empathy and social responsibility.”
Adam envisions a future where more coaches are integrated within educational systems. “If we instill positive habits in children early, they’ll be unstoppable,” he asserts.
Over nearly two decades, Adam has been a witness to numerous success stories, such as teens who find their voices and executives restoring balance in their lives. One particularly inspiring client overcame addiction, regained confidence, and triumphed in Ironman races while launching a successful business. “These narratives are what fuel my passion for this work,” Adam reflects. “Every client success energizes my own growth.”
As he contemplates his future, Adam plans to rebrand UAE Coaching to focus on strengths-based confidence coaching, expand workshops centered on stress management and high-performance teams, and eventually establish a foundation dedicated to supporting street children and orphans.
“I look forward to what lies ahead,” he shares with enthusiasm. “Coaching has profoundly changed me just as much as it has impacted my clients. Each day presents a new opportunity for growth, service, and making a meaningful contribution.”
