The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has made notable strides in improving the emirate’s business environment during the first half of 2025. This progress is a testament to the chamber’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and competitive marketplace.
Legislative Advancements and Business Councils
In a concerted effort to refine the regulatory framework, the chamber reviewed 27 laws and draft laws in collaboration with various Business Groups. This initiative has resulted in a significant increase in the adoption rate of private sector recommendations, rising from 46% in 2024 to an impressive 60% in 2025. Such legislative advancements are crucial for creating a more conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
Additionally, the chamber has established five new Business Councils aimed at representing the interests of investors from diverse countries, including Brazil, Slovakia, Peru, Indonesia, and Hungary. This expansion underscores Dubai’s dedication to enhancing international partnerships and broadening its global business representation.
Increased Engagement with Business Groups
The chamber’s efforts to engage with the private sector have yielded remarkable results. Over the first six months of 2025, there was a 104% increase in meetings with Business Groups and Councils, totaling 98 sessions. This surge in engagement reflects a growing recognition of the private sector’s role in shaping economic policies and supporting Dubai’s status as a leading global business hub.
During the third quarterly meeting of Business Groups and Councils, participants had the opportunity to discuss key initiatives aimed at bolstering the local business environment. The meeting served as a platform for addressing legislative priorities and exploring avenues for enhanced cooperation with government entities.
Strengthening Economic Policies
The discussions at the quarterly meeting highlighted the importance of Business Groups and Councils in influencing economic policies and legislation. By providing a collective voice for various sectors, these groups ensure that the interests of businesses are represented in policymaking processes. This collaborative approach not only strengthens the business landscape but also fosters public-private partnerships that are essential for sustainable economic growth.
Maha Al Gergawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, emphasized the pivotal role that these groups play in enhancing the competitiveness of companies. She noted that the quarterly meetings are instrumental in reinforcing partnerships with the private sector, enabling businesses to contribute to initiatives that drive economic growth.
A Collaborative Future
The chamber’s commitment to fostering a collaborative environment is evident in its ongoing efforts to support the interests of diverse industries and communities. Business Groups serve as a vital link between the private sector and government stakeholders, ensuring that the voices of various economic sectors are heard.
Through their activities, Business Groups and Councils not only contribute to the enhancement of Dubai’s business environment but also play a crucial role in advancing public-private partnerships. This collaborative spirit is essential for the sustainable success of companies operating in the emirate.
In summary, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce is making significant progress in shaping a robust business landscape in 2025.
