In an exciting announcement, the champions of the International League T20 (ILT20), the Dubai Capitals, have unveiled their squad for the 2025 ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL). Anticipation is building as fans prepare for what promises to be an electrifying tournament running from July 10 to 18 at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence.

Leading the charge for the Capitals is Rovman Powell, the former West Indies T20 skipper and ILT20 final MVP. Known for his explosive batting style, Powell has a knack for dismantling bowling attacks, positioning him as one of the key players to watch in this year’s GSL. His experience and leadership will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in the Capitals’ quest to defend their title.

Joining Powell are promising talents, including Barbados’ Kadeem Alleyne and the dynamic Dominic Drakes, who will spearhead the Capitals’ bowling attack. Drakes brings not only pace but also a wealth of experience, making him a valuable asset in the fast-paced format. The squad’s bowling depth is further bolstered by the inclusion of talented pacemen Farhan Khan from Pakistan, Kaleem Sana-Ur-Rahman from Canada, and Zeeshan Naseer from the UAE, each contributing unique skills to the mix.

The Capitals also feature a robust batting lineup, including Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batter Niroshan Dickwella and Afghanistan’s spirited Sediqullah Atal. Their presence adds versatility and aggression to the batting order. Meanwhile, South African spinner Keshav Maharaj is ready to exploit Providence’s spin-friendly conditions, bringing a tactical edge to the Capitals’ bowling strategy.

The tournament kicks off with a thrilling opening match against the Hobart Hurricanes XI on July 11. This matchup is expected to set the tone for what is already shaping up to be a competitive GSL. Alongside the Capitals, five formidable franchises are competing this year: the Hobart Hurricanes XI from Australia, the Rangpur Riders from Bangladesh, the Central Stags from New Zealand, and the ever-dangerous local favorites, the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

The Dubai Capitals’ squad for GSL 2025 is an impressive roster that showcases a blend of seasoned players and emerging talents. Here’s a look at the full squad:
