Chanel showcases tiger-print tweed and sheer skirts in spring/summer 2027 collection

Published:

Chanel’s spring/summer 2027 collection, unveiled on Monday, features a striking blend of sheer skirts and tiger-print tweed, showcasing the creative vision of Matthieu Blazy. This collection marks a significant moment for the iconic fashion house, which has seen a surge in sales amid a challenging luxury market.

Blazy, who has been at the helm for just over a year, has revitalized Chanel’s aesthetic by infusing youthful energy and vibrant color palettes into its classic tweed suits. His latest designs have not only attracted a new clientele but have also kept the brand’s stores bustling with activity.

A Dazzling Presentation

The collection was presented at the Grand Palais, where a star-studded front row included celebrities like Dua Lipa, Nicole Kidman, and Pedro Pascal. The venue was transformed with a giant moon installation and a flock of luminous seagulls, while the floor featured a striking Martian orange-and-green reflective resin pattern.

Models showcased an array of skirt suits crafted from sheer cream and black fabrics, adorned with intricate floral and bead embroidery. The tweed was reimagined with wide windowpane prints and mesh panels, alongside bold red-and-white tiger prints that captured attention.

Innovative Designs and Accessories

Chanel’s latest offerings included skirts with dynamic swinging panels and pleated mini-skirts paired with cropped jackets that revealed the midriff. The hems were creatively frayed or embellished with metallic beading, adding a modern twist to traditional silhouettes.

Footwear featured new iterations of the brand’s iconic two-tone pumps, available in both leopard and tiger prints, as well as vibrant baby blue and silver options. Chunky sandals adorned with a large interlocking C logo in gold were also part of the collection. Additionally, quilted handbags came in classic colors like black, burgundy, and white, with some striking zebra print variations layered with bold primary colors.

A Celebration of Sensuality

Angélique Liautaud, womenswear buying and merchandising director at Printemps, remarked, “Chanel felt as alive as ever,” highlighting the collection’s blend of masculine and feminine elements that introduced a new sensuality to the brand. The show concluded with Blazy making a spirited appearance to the sounds of Britney Spears’ Gimme More, further emphasizing the youthful and vibrant spirit of the collection.

As Chanel continues to innovate under Blazy’s direction, the spring/summer 2027 collection stands as a testament to the brand’s ability to evolve while maintaining its storied heritage.
