BTS to Make Their Comeback in 2026 with New Music and Global Tour

Date:

BTS—the iconic K-pop group renowned for shattering records and topping charts worldwide—has finally unveiled their long-anticipated return to the music scene. After a hiatus marked by individual projects and mandatory military service, the members recently came together in a livestream event, marking their first collective appearance in nearly three years.

During this livestream, held on the fan-favorite Hybe-owned platform Weverse, BTS shared their roadmap for the upcoming phase of their careers. Excitement filled the air as they announced plans to head to the U.S. this month to begin work on new music. Their forthcoming album is tentatively set for a spring 2026 release.

“We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year,” the group disclosed, full of enthusiasm. “Starting in July, all seven of us will begin working closely together on new music. Since it will be a group album, it will reflect each member’s thoughts and ideas.” This approach, mirroring their initial formation years, hints at a creative revival fans have eagerly awaited.

In addition to this album, BTS revealed plans for a worldwide tour in 2026. This would mark their first tour since the highly successful series of shows, “BTS: Permission to Dance on Stage,” which attracted 4 million fans worldwide through a combination of live concerts and online engagement. “We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are,” they added, fostering optimism among their dedicated fanbase.

In the interim, BTS members seem committed to their solo endeavors. Jin, the group’s eldest member, recently completed his solo tour in Goyang, South Korea, while J-Hope is gearing up to headline Lollapalooza Berlin later this month. This blend of individual and collective pursuits allows each member to hone their craft while respecting the fans’ yearning for group performances.

An important highlight of the livestream was the recent reunion of all BTS members, which took place during J-Hope’s solo concert finale. This marked their first gathering since 2022, coinciding with the discharge of members RM, V, Jimin, and Jung Kook from military service. J-Hope and Jin, who had also completed their service, were joined by Suga, who finished his service shortly after. This reunion signifies not just the return of the group but the rekindling of their bond, which has always been a cornerstone of BTS’s identity.

Fans of BTS—affectionately known as ARMY—have shown tremendous patience, especially during the two-year enlistment period. However, during this time, each member released solo projects that garnered critical acclaim and commercial success. A notable highlight was their free concert, “Yet to Come,” held in Busan in October 2022, aimed at promoting the city’s bid for the 2030 World Expo, drawing fans from across the globe. Shortly after, BigHit Music announced their commitment to fulfilling military service, emphasizing that it was a “perfect time” for the members to honor this important duty.

The excitement surrounding their recent livestream was palpable, attracting over 7.3 million real-time viewers—a testament to BTS’s enduring global appeal. While the exact release dates for their music and tour have yet to be announced, the group’s rekindled spirit and promises of collaboration pave the way for a thrilling new chapter in BTS’s illustrious journey.
