Another Major Mall to Implement Ticketless Paid Parking System

Burjuman Mall to Introduce Ticketless Paid Parking System

Burjuman, one of Dubai’s oldest and most iconic shopping destinations, is set to enhance the parking experience for its visitors with the introduction of a ticketless paid parking system. This innovative move, as reported by Khaleej Times, aligns with the recent trends seen in other major malls across the city, including the Mall of the Emirates and Deira City Centre, which have already adopted similar systems.

A Step Towards Modernization

The transition to a ticketless parking system at Burjuman marks a significant modernization effort for the mall, which has been charging for parking for many years. While physical tickets will no longer be necessary, parking barriers will remain in place. However, the new system will allow for a seamless entry and exit process, as the barriers will automatically lift to grant access to vehicles without requiring drivers to stop and collect a ticket.

How It Works

The new parking system will utilize Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology. This advanced system captures the license plate numbers of vehicles entering and exiting the parking area, allowing for the automatic calculation of parking fees. This means less hassle for visitors, who can enjoy their shopping experience without the worry of managing physical tickets.

Additional Features

In addition to the ticketless parking system, Burjuman will also introduce a ‘Find My Car’ service. This feature aims to assist visitors in locating their vehicles easily within the expansive parking area, enhancing the overall convenience of the parking experience. Other upgrades are also planned to improve navigation within the parking facilities, ensuring that visitors can find their way around with ease.

Parking Rates Remain Unchanged

Despite the introduction of the new system, Burjuman has confirmed that parking rates will remain unchanged. Visitors will continue to enjoy the first three hours of parking for free, with each additional hour or part thereof costing Dh20. Furthermore, parking will be free on Sundays and public holidays, and moviegoers will benefit from an additional three hours of complimentary parking. However, it’s important to note that overnight parking is not permitted, and vehicles that violate this rule will incur a charge of Dh250 per day.

A Historical Landmark

Burjuman Mall, which opened its doors in 1991, is a significant part of Dubai’s retail landscape. Spanning an impressive 286,417 square meters, the mall is home to a diverse range of local and international retailers, a cinema, a family entertainment center, a hypermarket, and numerous dining options. With over 100 stores, it caters to a wide array of shopping preferences, making it a popular destination for both residents and tourists alike.

Accessibility via Public Transport

The mall is conveniently connected to the Dubai Metro, with the Burjuman station being one of the busiest in the city. Located strategically between Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street and Khalid bin Al Waleed Road in Bur Dubai, the station saw approximately 7.8 million passengers from January to June last year. This accessibility further enhances the appeal of Burjuman as a shopping destination, allowing visitors to easily reach the mall without the need for a car.

Stay Informed

For those interested in keeping up with the latest developments at Burjuman and other news in Dubai, Khaleej Times offers updates through various channels, including WhatsApp. This ensures that visitors are always informed about new features and services available at the mall.

As Burjuman prepares to roll out its ticketless parking system, it continues to uphold its reputation as a beloved shopping destination while embracing modern technology to enhance the visitor experience.
