ACCIONA has announced a significant achievement in Qatar, reaching 20 million safe man hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) across its water operations. This milestone reflects 917 consecutive days of safety, maintained since February 27, 2024, and underscores the company’s commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards, as reported by ME Construction News.

The achievement highlights ACCIONA’s rigorous application of health and safety protocols, which are supported by strong leadership and proactive risk management. The company attributes this success to the collaborative efforts of its employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and partners, all of whom play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment.

Jose Francisco Garcia, the EPC Director for ACCIONA’s Water business in Qatar, stated that this milestone is a testament to the professionalism and commitment of everyone involved in their operations. He emphasised that safety is central to their work culture, demonstrating the positive outcomes that can arise when all team members take responsibility for workplace safety.

ACCIONA’s approach to safety involves encouraging teams to identify potential risks and intervene when necessary, fostering a culture where safety is a shared responsibility. This commitment to continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices remains a priority for the company as it operates in Qatar.

As ACCIONA continues its operations, it aims to uphold and strengthen its safety culture, ensuring that health and safety remain integral to its daily activities. The company’s achievement of 20 million safe man hours without an LTI not only reflects its operational excellence but also sets a benchmark for safety standards in the construction and water management sectors.
