Clodagh McKenna: The Heart of Home and Family

A Culinary Star with Deep Roots

Clodagh McKenna is not just a household name in culinary circles; she embodies the very essence of home and family. While many know her for her incredible skills in the kitchen, those close to her recognize the profound connection she maintains with her loved ones. This aspect of her life, often underappreciated, adds richness to her public persona.

Weekend Rituals: Family First

Despite a schedule brimming with responsibilities—from writing to managing a thriving farm—Clodagh prioritizes family time above all else. "I finish work on a Friday at five o’clock, and the whole weekend is dedicated to my family," she shared during an interview at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby. This commitment extends to her friends as well, demonstrating her inclusive nature and the value she places on relationships.

Cherished Sibling Bonds

Raised in a close-knit family with two sisters, Mairead and Niamh, Clodagh reflects fondly on her upbringing. "We’re a close family, which is really, really lovely," she enthused. Though distances may separate them, their familial bond remains unbreakable, showcasing the importance of connection in her life.

Roots and Aspirations

Even with her flourishing career, Clodagh maintains her ties to Ireland. Yet, when asked about the prospect of moving back, she opened up about her responsibilities, particularly regarding the expansive farm she manages. "We have a big farm and a lot to look after," she explained, leaving her future in Ireland open-ended while staying rooted in her current life.

Life at Highclere Castle

Clodagh currently resides in a picturesque 300-year-old cottage on the grounds of Highclere Castle, famous as the filming location of "Downton Abbey." Living on a 60-acre farm with her husband, Harry Herbert, whom she wed in 2021, Clodagh embraces both rural life and her passion for cooking and home aesthetics.

A New Venture: Honey by Clodagh

Amidst all these personal commitments, Clodagh is keenly focused on her latest endeavor: launching a homeware line named "Honey by Clodagh." “It’s got its own website, beautiful tablecloths, kitchen covers, utensils… and everything else in the pipeline," she described the exciting new products on offer.

Aesthetic Appeal

Clodagh’s designs reflect her deep appreciation for style and functionality in the home. With products that include stunning butter-yellow striped tablecloths and charming napkins, she aims to bring a touch of elegance to everyday dining experiences. However, her designs do come at a premium, and fans of her aesthetic may find themselves scrutinizing their budgets.

Pricey Yet Beautiful Designs

Since launching her homeware line on June 30, Clodagh’s products have generated buzz—not just for their beauty, but also for their notable price points. For example, the Lemon Grove Tablecloth retails for €150, while a set of four Lemon Grove Napkins is priced at €72. Additionally, her Large Lemon Grove Cushion Covers are €72 each, and the Lemon Grove Apron retails for €94. These prices may challenge some enthusiasts, leading many to consider simpler options while still admiring the aesthetic appeal.

The Allure of Honey by Clodagh

While the eye-catching designs are hard to resist, prospective buyers might find themselves narrowing their selections. Perhaps a set of napkins could become the centerpiece for a future dinner party, even if the entire collection remains out of reach for now. Clodagh’s homeware not only reflects her culinary expertise but also her commitment to making every meal a celebration of familial love and warmth.

In a world where home means everything, Clodagh McKenna continues to shine, merging love for food, family, and stylish living into a beautiful tapestry of life experiences. Her journey—a blend of ambition and family ties—offers a refreshing reminder of what truly matters.
