What to Expect This Summer
Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2025 is setting the stage for an exhilarating line-up of 6 indoor mall runs across some of the city’s top shopping destinations. Organised by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), these community events are inclusive, welcoming everyone — from beginners aiming for a fitter future to seasoned athletes eyeing fast personal records.
Kick-off at Dubai Hills Mall
The indoor running action begins on 28 June at Dubai Hills Mall with the DSS Indoor Run powered by Skechers. Participants can challenge themselves, their friends, or family with various distances to choose from: 1 km, 2.5 km, 5 km, or even 10 km routes that snake through the luxurious mall environment. What makes this run special? Expect upbeat music, aid stations, finishing medals, certificates, and refreshments. Plus, the top three finishers in each category will take home trophies and vouchers, making the competition even more thrilling!
City Centre Mirdif Runners Unite
Next up is the #ActiveSummer run, happening on 6 July at City Centre Mirdif. Promoted by the Dubai Sports Council and RX Coffee, and organized by Peloton Events, this run invites participants aged 13 years and above to tackle 3 km or 5 km courses categorized by skill level. Younger participants aged 4 to 15 can sprint an engaging 850 m lap in two age brackets. Every finisher will earn a medal, certificate, and refreshments, while category winners snag exciting cash prizes, gift vouchers, and bonus SHARE points. Registration is already open and starts at just AED 47.25!
Mid-Season Magic at Ibn Battuta Mall
On 13 July, the vibrant atmosphere will pick up at Ibn Battuta Mall. Runners can choose from 2.5 km, 5 km, or 10 km distances, with every participant receiving a branded t-shirt and exclusive finishers medal. Podium presentations will recognize the top three finishers in each age category. Early bird registration is available now, starting at AED 85.
Fun Continues at Mall of the Emirates and Wafi Mall
The energy continues to soar with additional runs at the iconic Mall of the Emirates on 3 August and at Wafi Mall on 10 August. Both of these runs promise a fun, family-friendly environment, offering a much-needed escape from the summer heat in fully air-conditioned spaces. Organised by Dubai Sports Council and managed by Peloton Events, these runs will keep the excitement alive!
Grand Finale at Dubai Festival City Mall
The series culminates on 31 August at Dubai Festival City Mall, where participants can enjoy a bustling atmosphere filled with music, enthusiastic supporters, and plenty of exciting giveaways. This final event promises to be the highlight of the summer running calendar!
