They call it the biggest little play festival in Dubai — Short+Sweet Dubai is back this year for another exhilarating season. After successful runs over the last 13 years, it continues to garner attention, bringing together one of the world’s largest 10-minute play festivals.

This vibrant festival features over 300 actors, writers, and directors, making it a true celebration of creativity, diversity, and powerful storytelling. Each play is crafted to be consumed in bite-sized pieces, allowing audiences to experience big stories in small packages.

What makes Short+Sweet unique is its linguistic diversity; the festival showcases performances in 8 different languages, representing a rich tapestry of cultures and perspectives. Whether you are in the mood for monologues, musicals, comedies, or dramas, there is something for everyone. This variety ensures each viewer can find a performance that resonates with them.

This year, the festival is taking place at The Junction, located in the heart of Alserkal Avenue, a well-known hub for live theatre and the performing arts. It features over 70 original plays, each with a runtime of just 10 minutes, allowing audiences to enjoy a plethora of stories in a single evening. Running until June 1, tickets are available for purchase on Platinumlist. Even though we’re about halfway through this year’s run, there are still plenty of exciting performances left to discover.
